[history]
I was watching Fox News this morning and saw California Congressman Adam Schiff give the Democratic spin on the California recall election. He stated that the recall wasn't actually anti-Davis, but anti-incumbent.
He then went on to extrapolate that this spells real trouble for George W. Bush's upcoming reelection campaign.

Schiff's comments were made on the TV news broadcast, but are included in the article linked above.
"I think what we saw today in California was really an anti-incumbent sentiment strongly expressed," said Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif.

This kind of thinking is just going to encourage the voters to finish off what they've started in CA.

This is their new spin. They have nothing else. Course, they'll have yet another spin when Bobby Jindal wins in Louisiana!

The voter registration jumped and turnout over 65%. This is an anti-liberal vote not anti-incumbent vote.

This must be the DNC fax for the morning. Didn't McAuliffe say something similar already?

I can understand trying to put a good spin on it and trying to rhetorically turn this to their advantage, but I'm laughing because I think some Democrats actually start believing their own spin.
Do they honestly think this was about anything other than a monumental disdain for the incompetence of Grey Davis?

Well this maybe the script but Mr. Schiff the liberal just gave President Bush credibility.
So to call President Bush "incumbent" now changes their script from "stealing an election" to one who won.

Exactly. And you know what they say...Never get in the way of your oppenent when he's getting ready to shoot himself in the foot. Or in this case, both feet.

Tee hee hee....
Watch out Hillary. Rudy has you in his sights.
I love the way the democrats never see the otherside of an argument.

We know that Adam Schiff has to be speaking these words with his mouth. His rectal orfice has more native good sense.
NOW are the Democrats going to fire Terry McAuliffe? The fellow keeps making promises he can't possibly keep....
On the other hand, Republicans are more than satisfied with his performance.

Blah blah blah...! More Democrat "spin" and wishful thinking. If these jackasses were not so mind-numbed, they'd get bored with their own propaganda, like everybody else does.

True, and these dim wits do keep stepping in it, and it was a thrill to hear President Bush and "incumbent" even with the "anti" in front of it out of a liberal's mouth.
To: tdadams
And if Gray Davis had beaten the rap, the Democrat's message would certainly have been how voters just love Democrats and Bush is in trouble.
The news could be that the leaves are unusually beautiful this fall, and the conclusion by the liberal shills would be that Bush is in trouble.

And Schiff voted out Jim Rogan's congressional seat..He is a creep! (just my opinion!)

This stupid reasoning started with Bob Mulholland last night. He said it first to Brit Hume on Fox News.

That's the same spin they put on the 1994 debacle. Until someone pointed out that only incumbent Democrats lost.
