McClintock Cautiously Optimistic About Chances
After casting his vote this morning in a Thousand Oaks polling place, Republican state Senator Tom McClintock expressed confidence that an upset win would put him in the governor's office.
In recent days, McClintock has repeatedly said his his third place standing in the polls doesn't respresent the true feelings of voters. He believes the people of California will vote their consciences, resulting in a victory for him.
McClintock had a message for those who like his message, but say he can't win and intend to vote for Schwarzenegger instead of him. "Don't vote for someone else's calculations, vote your own convictions," he said.
While disturbed by recent allegations about fellow Republican Schwarzenegger, McClintock also expressed skepticism about the charges because of the timing. Whatever his reservations, however, he said that if the accusations are proven, Schwarzenegger doesn't deserve to be governor.
McClintock has mapped out his first day in office if elected. First, he plans to sign an executive order to repeal the car tax, then take action to rescind expensive energy contracts, and finally call a special session to examine workman's compensation issues.

Hey.....can I get extra points? I voted my conscience and voted for Arnie.
My conscience told me to do the best I could with what I was given. I did.

I just don't think you have the right to question why people on this forum cast their votes. I find it interesting. I use FR as somewhat of an ongoing sociological experiment. We are, for better or for worse, a microcosm of society in general. I like to figure out the dynamics of what makes us tick.

I'm sorry to laugh, but this is getting funny. It's as if the music is being played and someone cannot keep from jumping on the dance floor and making a fool of himself.

Cry me a river, loser. Now why would you consider me a loser? I'm not in California. I didn't vote today. You seem a bit insecure.

CNN just said that Mcclintock is going to give his concession speech shortly -- I wonder if it's going to be "If more people had voted for me, I would have won".
