I never listen to the messages since I refuse to open spam.

...which was written by a conservative... Uh NO, Assemblyman Richman (author of Prop. 53) is by no means a conservative. In fact, he's the most liberal Republican officeholder in the state.

I have a question on 53. Does it limit the state to only 1% on infrastructure? If so, the Dims will see that as freeing up more money to use for buying votes.

Leni,
Up here in your other home, the phone calls were
"Vote Dem or the Republicans will take your Social Security away".It was in Spring 2001 in a local race for township supervisor, township assessor, etc. Guessing at what would be coming, I campaigned door to door to pre-emptively neutralize the last minute phone calls. (Others were customized for pro-choice voters, Blacks, etc.
ps we need you back here where we have real politics. Spin was impressed with you at TapRoot, etc.

I received this call yesterday .... I did not listen to the entire recording. I hung up. I am so tired of these so-called Republicans calling to tell me why I should not vote for the front running Republican. ie: I supported Arnold until it was brought to our attention how he treats women.
Terminate Davis !!!!

"As a Republican woman voter, I favor family values. But Arnold Schwarzenegger's [behavior makes it impossible for me to support him], and Tom McClintock can't win. So, vote no on the recall, and let's wait for a REAL Republican in 2006. And also, vote yes on 53 and no on 54. This message brought to you by the Council of Concerned Women (slightly softer voice) Voters." This is the Democratic platform. Proof it is a fraud: Republican women are TOO SMART for this stupidity! And what a bogus ripoff name from the largest women's groups in the nation (larger than NOW).

""Gee, I was gung-ho for this Arnold guy up until I got this phone call from this concerned women organization telling me I oughta reconsider and pull the lever for Davis to stay in office...guess that's what I oughta do then." I mean, c'mon! Are there really people like this?" Yes, they are Called Clinton Democrats!

Pretty tricky. I just did a Google search for "Council of Concerned Women Voters" as well as "Council of Concerned Women" and it didn't recognize either of those, but I got a number of hits for the "Concerned Women for America", a conservative group.
Anybody calling for "Concerned Women for America" would know the name of the group, and it seems obvious that if the "Council of Concerned Women Voters" was legit, it would have a website, or at least some sort of reference to it on the Internet.
It seems pretty obvious that this was duplicitous and unethical, so maybe it was an editor from the LA Times.
Must be those Desperate Democrats up to their dirty tricks again, trying to steal the election.... hahahaha....
