[history]
If Proposition 54 fails in today's election, the author and leading proponent of the initiative said he will make another go at banning the state from collecting racial and ethnic data after cleaning up "flawed" and confusing language in the measure.

Now, now.. hold on. You missed my point. Most the land mass in CA votes conservative -- as evidenced by the red/blue map. Say, make Contra Costa county -- up and down the coast.. the new beachfront. :)

... and we'll be the right wing crazies battling Hillary's "left wing" conspiracists. I'd rather be a crazy than a conspiracist, no? :) Crazy is cool.

For example, he said, the California Cancer Registry, which tracks the occurrence of cancer in the state, is based on data collected by the Department of Finance. How that can be permitted in the age of HIPAA is puzzling... But then I'm no expert in HIPAA, and so there may indeed be a loophole that allows it...

Majority of voters rejected Proposition 54, which would bar state and local governments from collecting most data on race, religion and ethnicity... Developing...
From Drudge Report... I guess most people either can't read, don't care or can't let go of the goodies that racial bean counting offers.

Yup. Apparently, people are stupid.
http://www.voterguide.ss.ca.gov/propositions/2-3-prop-54.html It says right on the friggin' website what it's for. Heck, if these morons had actually read the damn sample ballot it says right on there that it prohibits the aforementioned classification based on race, et al.

I've gotten so used to all the "terms of endearment" lobbed at me by detractors -- it's so hard to keep track! :)

I admit -- I have a hard time with these gifs - either with Cruz or Gray. I feel badly for the mauled tamer. He and his partner do seem to be very nice men. I'd heard the lion was drawn to a lady's "big hairdo" in the audience -- and the tamer read the animal's signals and rushed in.
On the other hand.. I'm so appalled and disgusted by Gray Davis and Cruz Bustamante's type of politics, I simply can't defend them. But I certainly don't wish to see their throats ripped out; I'd rather see them grow up. If they can. Too many years of ingesting a hateful theology has corrupted them. Perhaps, their recovery might resemble the tamer's -- slow, possibly never full recovery.
