Why would anyone outside the CIA itself know who is working undercover? What foolish policy would allow political types to have such information? Who would work undercover with any chance the political types might have information on them. Think about it.
This entire episode defies logic.

Furthermore, once any suspicion about her arose, why didn't the CIA just go public and reveal HER COVER?? That's why an operative works "under cover": if anyone suspect that he/she is an agent, the person can point to a legitimate business.
