I don't want Carson to win. He's the democrat.

Coburn is the Republican. Other than that, I agree with Watts and Istook, but I'm weary on Keating.

Corporation Commissioner! You are right! There is absolutely no one that I would rather see replace Don Nickles than J.C. Watts -- absolutely no one! He has 100% of my support -- would volunteer every last hour I have to see him become the next Senator from Oklahoma!

Keating -- no way and I am a staunch Republican! He cannot keep his foot out of his mouth and has irritated a lot of folks in Oklahoma!

Very sad to hear Nickles is leaving. But I expected as much. Anyway, Brad Carson (I live in his district) WANTS that seat. Brad Carson must be defeated at all costs!!!!!!
I would love to see JC Watts or Ernest Istook take the seat. No way on Frank Keating!!!

Believe me, it was a shock when we lost to Brad Carson, after Tom Coburn retired. Never underestimate Brad Carson and his cronies!!! It is going to be a fight, but if Brad does run, maybe I will get a Republican back representing me. Let the games begin!!!!!

I got to meet J.C. also. In the Salt Lake City airport. I went to get his autograph, but the only thing I had was my pocket sized Bible. He autographed it and under his signature he wrote Philippians 4:13. He would be an excellent choice.

wants to return to OK

This is the REALLY mysterious part of the equation, in my view. Why would anyone that's been someplace else want to go to Oklahoma (unless, of course, you're from California)?

Probably will see Kirk Humphries (OK City Mayor) and Congressman Ernest Istook file for Republican nomination. Humphries is a good campaigner and has a lot of money. Dems. will probably nominate Congressman Brad Carson. Carson is a Dem., but often sides with Bush. It could be close, but I think Humphries would be favored. Then again, I though Steve Largent would be Governor...Whoops!

There are several Dems. hanging it up (GA,SC,Probably FLA & LA) and there are few that can be knocked off (Boxer, CA, Reed NV,that nut gal in WA and maybe even Dashle in SD).

Yeah, but we can't always control what our family members do. If J. C. wasn't involved, he should not be tarred with that brush, though given the state of Democrat politics today, they'll try to do just that!!

Ohohohohoh, MAKE IT SO!!!

J.C. Watts is my hero!

Has anybody read his autobiography? Good read.

If not him, how about Largent? He got shafted in the Gov. race, I'm sure he'd walk in the senate race.

Can't even give it a rest on other threads, can you?

The only conservative and only Republican politician running in today's race is Tom McClintock. I have no problems with an actor running, but I have grown extremely weary of so many "conservatives" here who think the real politician should bow before the anointed one.

In fairness, Largent was gonna win by 14%, then a rich millionare stepped in and started talking really conservative and pulled away almost exactly 14%, and he lost by only 4000. If the race were held the next day without that guy, he would have won by at least 10pts.

He got Perot'ed. Or should I say McClintocked (time will tell).

However, I perfer Watts as well, and I think Largent should make another run for Governor in '06.

Oh well. It's up to the Okies. Choose wisely.

Because Trent Lott insisted on dragging the party down in order to keep his Leadership post after that Strom Thurmond debacle.

He kept stepping in it and stepping in it, and Nickles took the bullet for us by being the first one to suggest Lott step down.

As such, he has no change of getting the post (which he wanted), so he figured he's better off leaving.

Mark my words - Lott is a nasty self-interested piece of work, and if Nickles was the Leader, I guarantee you we would never have had Federal Judges in filibuster.

Thanks, Lott. Now why don't you think about leaving!

Other than that, I think Don is really cute.
