George Putnam was expressing conservative views twenty years before Rush was on talk radio. Rush didn't do anything but act as a pacifier for the conservative movement to sleep. If Rush were doing his job, Arnold would have been laughed out of the party when he ran for Governor. And I don't remember a worse President than Bill Clinton; all while the "Great Rush" was leading us to a more conservative America. And with the EIB mike ensconced in New York, Hillary became Senator. What a powerful force of conservatism Rush is. I knew when he ran and hid from the homosexual activists during the "Rush to excellence" tour, he was nothing but a self-serving carnival barker. "See the grotesque liberals in Washington, freaks of nature they are." And each day the conservative movement got more and more comfortable in their sleep, being hypnotized by "El Rushbo", while their country goes to hell.
Wake up Christians and stop playing church, to enter God's Kingdom there must be a COMPLETE new birth."

45,000 e-mails?
With his the size of his audience he's probably taking a sleep-helper pill tonight.

I lose more respect for this guy everyday. If he's so grateful why is he releasing the number of emails he's getting? Oh wait.. that's right.. he's using as a weapon against the public. Oh yeah.. love RUsh.. he has 45,000 support emails(and don't forget.. and counting).
Get over yourself Rush.. you need to pass on quietly into retirement.

If Richard Nixon had come clean when the fit began to hit the shan, he would have beat the Watergate mess.
If Rush come clean on this, he will find his "gravitas" skyrocket.
As Arnold said, "Where there is smoke, there is fire." My gut, and Rush's statements lead to only one conclusion - there IS a fire.
I just hope his attorney's are pressing John Law in Fla to play their cards very soon. When they do, no matter what they are holding, this can be Rush's finest hour.
If he does the right thing.
This, from a not dittohead, yet one who respects achievement and competence.

Before we get any further with all this I just want you to know how I appreciate what you're all saying, He really couldn't go much further at that point, it was one of the few times I have ever heard emotion getting in the way of him expressing himself, his voice got shakey.

Rush really turned me on to the wonders of conservatism and for that I will always be forever grateful.
He's always been there for us and now we need to be there for him.

Parsing: "You will know that I have continued, and will do what I have to do to earn it, and never take it for granted. "
Will know= will explain in future. "I have continued ....to earn it" Past tense implies he may have been hooked but he isn't now.

Like many here, Rush started me on my journey toward political self-discovery. Over the years many of my views have diverged from his, but Rush is the man that started it all.
The modern conservative movement owes more to Rush than anyone else, including Reagan. He has my support.

I was, one of those was mine. FWIW, I have stood by Rush from the beginning by refusing to offer any personal theories relevant to the alleged mess he is in. Considering this is a conservative forum, I have been thoroughly disgusted with the comments I have been reading from so-called conservatives, all of whom seem to have the inside scoop. All of whom seem to have the perfect response that Rush should have made to these allegations.
All of whom that do not know what it is like to be the front page headline on every newspaper in this country, to be the major topic of every news broadcast at every hour on every television and radio network across this country.
If my support of Rush turns out to be unwarranted then I will be the first to step forward and admit I was wrong.
As for those know-it-alls, do you think I am out of line or being unrealistic to believe that they would do the same if it turns out they were wrong? Yea, it is unrealistic. Given the nature of the internet, it is too easy to sit back in the anonymity of one's den and insert one's foot in their big mouth without any requirement for apologies...........
If these so-called conservatives want to behave like a bunch of DU piranhas, then they know where their home site is!
