I am listening to him now. I think he has many listeners who are sick of this ESPN flap, and who would like him to get back to politics. I'm one of them! I don't tune in to hear sports.

The majority of people who criticize Rush will trash him no matter what he says.
He knows this, and so do we.
The authorities have not even talked to Rush, and they say they don't plan to. So what charges would he be denying, specifically, when he has been charged with NOTHING?
The National Enquirer's charges? LOL.
He is not obligated to respond to a tabloid that has admitted they sat on this story for two years, and which clearly relied on the maid selling them information.

To date - I don't recall hearing even a denial of charges... As someone else has pointed out, there are no "charges" to be denied. And until there is something more clear in that regard, he could end up issuing a continuous stream of denials and explanations as the "charges" changed.

LOL. You're such a bad boy.

With the drug allegations, Rush appears to be playing the politician's game of 'plausible deniability'.
BTW, does the Rush dittocam camera angle make him look like Archie Bunker or what ? LOL.

The point is we don't know the situation EXACTLY!
Furthermore, Rush may not know exactly what all is going on here with this either.
It really is in his best interest, to keep his mouth shut for the moment.
People need to consider, that this woman had access to Rush's home for quite some time. There is no telling what she may have been up to. And, since the so called "evidence" is in the hands of individuals and a tabloid, instead of the State, (that is how the situation appears to be), Rush's lawyers need time to get a a hold of this stuff, and examine it, in order to see how to proceed.
Finally, it is possible that Rush may be comtemplating legal action on his own...

I believe JFK took approx. 25 pills/day for various medical conditions he suffered, including anxiety! It was detailed in mainstream newspapers some months ago, but the Rats would prefer we forget that. Very true. JFK also took huge amounts of cocaine, which he said were for his "bad back"...
But hey, it was the sixties. And what are you gonna do - shoot the guy...?

I find it difficult to imagine, how an INNOCENT man can be impacted by ANYTHING he may say about "FALSE" charges against him....
That is easy, they take thing out of context and beam it across the globe. The best thing to do if you are ever the subject of a criminal investigation is to be quiet and let the lawyer do the talking.

He did something I rarely see him do, which is to look the dittocam in the eye, and speak directly to it.
Like you I believe that his record stands on its own, and in no way is it "Clintonesque".

Rush is in serious denial about the ESPN thing. By insisting that he is right, he is ignoring the fact that he is being stupid. You can walk up to people and tell them they are fat and ugly. You may be right, but you are also being STUPID!
I sure hope he is not in the same denial over the drug thing.

Hate to say it but I think Rush ginned up this whole Donovan McNabb flap to deflect the drug story, which still could be a career ender, very Clintonesque IMODoes your ten foil hat have a bill??
To: unsycophant
Rush could say--"I do not abuse painkillers. I am under a doctor's care."
Or, he could say, --"I'm in trouble with painkillers, and I'm checking into rehab today. Please support me." Who would say no, or condemn him, considering his health problems?
Fact is, the left now has him neutralized. He has said, "I don't know yet where I stand." Well, the left can keep him in that state of uncertainty forever. If the authorities don't choose to ever make a move, he'll never tell us what is going on with all this noise?
What will happen to his audience, to his influence, to the job he has done for us for so many years?

No matter what you say, the other side will take apart every word, every sentence. I don't care how not guilty you are, you can't win that game."Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner.
I'm positive Rush has taken legal pain killers at some point in his life (haven't we all?), so there will be those who say "See, he admitts he took drugs, Rush got addicted"!
My take.
Like him or not, Roy Black wrote the book on Defense, and told Rush to neither confirm nor deny these charges. His lawyer would "resign" in a heart beat if Rush didn't listen to his sound advice.
Rush says to be patient and TRUST in him. He's given us no reason to do otherwise. But noooo, there are those who choose to take the side of the Enquirer and a Junkie over Rush. I'm stunned. The poor guy is between a rock and a hard place.

"I could be wrong, but it seems to me there is never any legal harm in saying you've done absolutely nothing wrong if you haven't."
Utter speculation on my part but this is what I think is going on.
Rush probably bought a few pills from her. She taped the deal so she could blackmail him.
She gets busted and has a ledger that shows how much she has sold. She comes up with the story of it all being for Rush and that he was threatining her to deflect the fact that she was a major drug dealer.
imho only of course.
