Can you let the disagreement stand without the name calling, or the p*ssing contest. (And the Arnold supporters are just as guilty)

YES!

Abortion is murder. It may cost votes to say so, but that doesn't change anything. Abortion is murder.

Based on that quote, I would not say that Keyes was calling PResident Bush "evil". If you applied that standard fairly, any FReeper who encouraged a vote for Bush because he is the "lesser of the two evils" would be calling Bush "evil" by that context.

But Tom Daschle wouldn't want to join the Republican party because he has no agreement at all. Using him extremes the argument. I'm talking about people who agree more than they disagree.

What I have seen on the Tom vs Arnold threads is the simple point that only conservatives can be Republicans. I disagree with that assessment.

I've already told you once that there were a LOT of Freepers there who were shocked by Keyes' remarks, but you keep insisting that the vast majority approved.

Yes, because the vast majority are not BushBots...most have a backbone.

I've seen the transcript (someone once posted it here) and from my view, he did call President Bush evil. It was sort of an oblique reference, but clear to me and many other people.

He also referred to President Bush as "the bullet that kills you" in a piece he wrote called "I AM NOT A BUSH REPUBLICAN"...which would tend to reinforce the idea that he isn't exactly a fan of the POTUS, and considers him a threat of some kind.

I guess what I don't understand is why people would get upset and feel like they have to defend Keyes from his own words. It's just stuff he said. Either people agree, or they don't...you know?

Apparently Doug is someone who is able to see a difference between the boorish behavior of a group compared to a vicious biting rape and the threatening of a victim's children. If Arnold gropes once as a public official, I want him gone.

"Don't forget that Alan Keyes questioned whether George W. Bush could have prevented 9-11!!!!"

And you found this to be very good entertainment at one time also.

To: fso301

Arnold and Maria are joined by common roots. Their families supported the same side during the second world war.

Now, THAT'S entertainment.........LOL. Very good!

Here is what too many either fail to recognize, or refuse to acknowledge:

The conservative movement, the conservative agenda, is more important than any candidate, more important than any particular race.

If we, the sole carriers of the dream of a shining city on a hill in our generation, give up on conservative principles, the republic is dead.

And wouldn't they be? If you called me "the lesser of two evils", I would not be flattered.

Why do the republicans have a platform if they continually nominate persons who do not support it?

Well, that is a whole 'nother can of worms. I totally agree with you. But, again, isn't that decided by the voters in the primary... or the parties?

And how many people (with those on this board being the exception) know what the platform says? No, they know the broad brush... not the minute details.

Repeat after me: A rape while a public official is not the same as a grope by a private citizen on a movie set.

That's all I want. I say, go vote your conscience... and let those who would vote Arnold do the same. Each one is a Republican. Each one may be a conservative. But one is not more pure or better than the other.

But you aren't giving them up. You are going to vote for Tom McClintock and let the country and the Republican Party in California know where you stand.

And? What's your point?

I don't see anything at all that relates those two statements.

BTW, do you make it a habit of collectin all my posts? Are you stalking me?

I know what the platform says. I even know what the California GOP platform says. Arnold is at odds with most of its main tenets:

Pro-life.

Pro-Second Amendment.

Pro-family.

I've seen the transcript (someone once posted it here)

Remember the transcribing was done trying to use a tape of the speech which had sound quality problems.... No official copy of the speech was provided for the media......

BTW, I noticed you didn't DENY that Keyes questioned Bush's involvement in 9-11.
