If this was written by anyone but you, I would respond.

I'm sure EV does! Nobody that was at that meeting had any doubts, though.

OK - so the majority voted on the Pro-Life plank? Then why aren't the party leaders supporting the man that reflects the platforms voted in by the majority of its people?

A minority view has been driving Arnold's campaign?

There is something wrong with the picture you just described. Or maybe I'm interpreting it wrong? I've only had two cups of coffee that that is entirely possible.

You're living in the past.

Kinda uncomfortable to see Keyes apoplectic rantings again, ain't it?

What about space aliens?

What about letting them eat cake?

What about wearing only purple on Tuesday?

What about belief that Elvis is still alive?

I can make lists too.

Sorry, if I vigorously disagree with you.

Vigorously desagree to your heart's content. But that doesn't change the facts.

I'm so sick of this...why doesn't the Conservative movement break off and form its own party. If they truly believe they are in the majority, than they have nothing to worry about.

Because neither the conservatives or the moderates in the GOP can win elections without the other.

Don't forget that Alan Keyes questioned whether George W. Bush could have prevented 9-11!!!!

It's not apoplectic. It's common sense--something sorely lacking around here lately.

And that is fine. It is the voter's litmus test. But, you don't have to be any one thing to be a Republican. And you disagree with a plank in the platform and still be a Republican.

Right here in the Valley - a heretofore bastian of Republican conservatism - they've fallen in love with Schwarzsnkennedy. It's the most amazing thing. They basically told McClintock to go screw himself while they stand in line to fondle the big star. It's embarrassing!!! What a bunch of hypocrites!

ONE GOOD THING HAS COME OF THIS, THOUGH: We now know who the true conservatives are and who the phonies are. In the Valley, the phonies are Bill Jones, Mike Der Manouel Jr., Jane Parsons - to name a few - they've all gone over to the dark side.

Our KMJ (AM 580) Talk Radio host Bill Manders has wiggled his way back into my heart by being an outspoken critic of the Schwarzenegger groupies and for standing up for McClintock! Way to go Manders! By the way, for his troubles, Manders' hours have been cut back.

I'm afraid that we conservative Republicans who have remained true to our principles are going to be targeted by the turn-coats. They are going to try to punish us. You'll see.

most of those were very receptive to Keyes' message.

Oh, I'm sure. Keyes could axe murder somebody and his Keysters would stand up and applaud, muttering all the while "how profound, it's a shame the rest of the world doesn't understand just how profound Dr. Keyes really is"!

Sounds like Keyes is measuring up as the spoiler of '04....let's see if McLintock is repudiated tomorrow

It's a blue, baby-killer state and will be for the foreseeable future.

So then, I guess the opposition party should run blue, baby-killer candidates?

Are you being this obtuse on purpose?

Here is my point... see if you can follow it... My point is not all Republicans are conservatives. Got it! Your list of names are Republicans. They are not conservatives. There is a distinct difference that gets blurred because you think a conservative is what makes a Republican. My word...

Yeah! Why won't they swoon in adulation and turn the California Republican Party over to Arnold and his leftist advisers without a fight?

Mr. Keyes ought to go back and compare Ronald Reagan's track record while he was governor of California -- he'd probably be shocked to discover that Reagan seemed to be two different people during the course of his political career. He governed California much as Schwarzenegger would have, and he served as President much as McClintock would have.

Arnold IS in the race, and all the wishing in the world doesn't change that.

The most egregious culprits in this case, the California Republican Party, could have very easily invited him to leave. Davis would attack McC like he did Simon, but Simon lost precisely because he didn't stick to what he claimed were his principles when the pressure mounted (hence his endorsement of Arnold).

Additionally, McC probably wouldn't have a chance had Arnold attended that debate, and provided the publicity for McClintock's competence. Arnold did, so McC does. If Arnold dropped out, McClintock would win. California, as liberal as it supposedly is, would elect a conservative. It is possible. The reality of it is clear.

And you disagree with a plank in the platform and still be a Republican.

But you can't believe in and support the liberal agenda and truthfully call yourself a conservative--at least and have any credibility.
