Good luck RR. Not a Californian and I'm sure Tom and I differ on certain issues but he seems to be the only man running with any integrity.

California's Conservative Conservative
Unruffled by the Recall Circus, Tom McClintock Makes a Good Case for Dull
By Hank Stuever
Washington Post Staff Writer
Monday, October 6, 2003; Page C01
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 5
On Saturday morning, about 30 true believers in Tom McClintock are gathered in a meeting room at a Courtyard Marriott nestled in a corporate office park off the 805 Freeway. Courtyard Marriotts figure prominently in California grassroots operatics in these final days of the recall campaign: Someone is always about to appear at one or hold a debate at another, and TV cameras are often out front or inside. For every Ritz-Carlton or packed arena briefly graced by the presence of Arnold Schwarzenegger, there's a Courtyard Marriott with a Tom McClintock vibe to it.
(snip)
The crowd does its best to get pumped up, and they start chanting, "Go, Tom, Go," but for all the world it sounds like "Go, John Doe." Tom keeps going anyhow, out to the parking lot, utterly convinced he's the one.
It's probably not a good time to tell him we have a crush on him, but we all sorta do, and anyway, he kinda knows. (snip)

A great group showed up Saturday in Fresno for our "Walk For Tom". The McClintock campaign had delivered 4,000 flyers to us the night before. Rand Green and his cute wife showed up with several thousand copies of his article: "McClintock Can't Win? Do the Math" which we included with Tom's flyer to be distributed at precincts in Fresno and Clovis. Channel 24 TV news showed up and they did do a piece Saturday evening. It was pretty good, too. I have never been so proud to be associated with this campaign. Whatever happens, I will be sleeping well knowing I am supporting the best candidate for the job, and a candidate we can all be proud of. While the others have been slinging mud, crapping on each other and the electorate, Tom McClintock has been an example of class and professionalism. He has stayed focus and he has stayed the course. Go, McClintock! I have already voted YES on the recall and FOR McClintock.

As the campaign comes to a close, I thought I'd sum up my feelings on McClintock's run. As many of you know, I'm one of the many "Thomas Sowell Republicans" who chose to vote for my distant 2d choice, Schwarzenegger, based on my assessment of the numbers and probabilities, with hopes for the best out of Arnold once in office.
I cannot fault McClintock for being a traitor, as some have done. He has made it clear in recent weeks, and in a radio spot (in his own voice) now airing around the state, that his supporters should "vote their conscience" on the successor portion of their recall ballots. This is both principled and a brilliant rhetorical stroke: without being duplicitous, it blesses those who choose to vote for Arnold (out of greater fears of Cruz), while assuring those who stay with Tom on the ballot that they aren't in the wrong if it should turn out that Cruz DOES narrowly win. (God forbid.)
I cannot fault Tom for bashing Arnold much. He did a little at the outset of the campaign, but said nothing negative during the debate, as many Arnold loyalists had feared. (And "fear" is the word, isn't it fair to say?, given Tom's awesome command of the details that Arnold is only now beginning to osmose.)
I do wish that Tom had made clearer, in recent days, that his PRINCIPAL reaction to the yellow journalism versus Arnold in the final days of the campaign was despicable and suspicious ... and that only as a SECONDARY matter did he believe that, if the charges were true, Arnold should bow out. The press exploited Tom over the weekend, making it seem, unfairly and inaccurately, like Tom was taking the same tack as Davis, who of course DID mean to play up the yellow trash.
Tom is a gentleman, and I wish him the best and brightest future. Most immmediately, assuming the recall succeeds and Schwarzenegger succeeds Davis, my hope is for Tom to have substantial power and/or influence in the new administration, preferably officially so. That'll take BOTH camps' setting aside their pride and hurt feelings. But here is hoping.
Take a bow, Tom.

KSFO reported that Davis ordered packing boxes.
Tom was on KSFO this evening, answered a few listener questions, relatively friendly and mellow tone by all.
Tom favors Prop 53.

Just to give a heads up I already voted last week at the Norwalk registers office Yes,Recall,Tom,53,54
....and I want to tell you why it's important to get out the vote for Tom and have a good showing
In this recall it sometimes seems like it been us against the world we had the Republican establishment, talk radio (save for Rush) and even many of our own Freepers against us...
But the thing is they have spent all there political capital vouching for Arnold as a fiscal conservative... at this point there all in... only one is resisting at this point...Tom.... and his point is clear... I dont believe it and I will stake my ca(reer) on it
The Arnold forces implied that there policy will be basically the same as Tom.. implied but not promised no new taxes.. implied but not promised no licenses for illegal... .. implied but not promised to cut regulation not add new ones.... ..promised to remove the car tax....
Well if Arnold gets in he has to make good or at least give a damm good try.... if Arnold turns out to be Rnull SchwarzRenegger as many of us fear then the Republican establishment & talk radio sellouts have there creditability crumble
Normally that would be bad across the board.. voters would be turn off or even turn back to the Dems.....
But in this case when there creditability crumbles... there will be one man on to the right and only one man whose creditability will be golden....Tom
I am hoping that Rabid will continue the TOM MCCLINTOCK DAILY EDITION in some format because what ever the outcome... the next step is to see thing get done that need to get done in California
