TOM MCCLINTOCK DAILY EDITION - 10/6/03 (CA GOVERNOR'S RACE)
Please post local, regional, national news and views on Tom McClintock. This is a news and info thread. The following guidelines for posting are per DoughtyOne's most excellent suggestion.
McClintock Camp - Supporters or Defenders
Please post positive articles about Tom's policies and leave the Schwarzenegger bashing to the Democrats.
Schwarzenegger Camp - Supporters or Defenders
The call for McClintock to withdraw right now, or the tactic of calling him and his followers names for not doing so, is not productive and isn't good for the party.
Please save the Rino Arnold/Unelectable Tom rants for other threads.
"Dear Mr. Reagan, it should be obvious to you now that you can never be elected governor. Please put aside your ego, for the good of our party, and get behind the one man who is moderate enough to appeal to California voters - - San Francisco Mayor George Christopher."

if tom can't win why vote for him and end up electing bustamante??? just look at the poles.Hmmm, I'm pleased you pray, but I've heard that one before. The turnout FOR (R)nold rather than simply against what we have wouldn't be as high as you think if Tom wasn't in there.

(That's pre-election bogus, Arnold Schwarzenegger.)

To all the "Conservatives" for Arnold the question is... Will he respect you in the morning?
(Hint.. Arnold thinks your a two bagger)

re: Ken and Co.
I heard that too. In discussing Tom, they all said he was clearly the most experienced, qualified man for the job and they liked the fact that he talked straight.
Arnold was criticized for running an arrogant and comtemptible campaign that insulted the intelligence of the voter. Very strong words. That surprised me.

The Wilson Admin truely hates us at the Conservative grassroots levelAnd I'm sure they have the same feelings for Tom
The media has been very well managed (manipulated) by AS supporters. I remember seeing a couple really flowery articles by an author that came up at the top of a google search. The guy wrote for a small newspaper in the midwest covering that state's government. He had authored no articles outside the state... other than those praising AS.

Thanks, that reminds me, I need to start bagging up a bunch of clothes I never wear and don;t fit well anyway. Goodwill and other worthy charities are about to get a load of stuff, that's if I ever get off this darn keyboard. ;-)

SUPERSTAR'S PAST MAY GIVE AMMO TO ENEMIES AND SMEAR-SEEKERS

(snip)
Schwarzenegger, who has denied the charges, dropped out of the California governor's race in 2001, a day after he learned The National Enquirer was going to run a story about an alleged affair with a former child star who was 16 when they first met.
Again, he denied the charges.
As he announced his new candidacy, he acknowledged that the allegations were likely to resurface.
"I know they're going to throw everything at me . . . that I'm a womanizer, that I'm a terrible guy," he said. "All these things are going to come my way."
http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/2776.htm The Weider/National Enquirer merger followed, hence the skepticism.

Seabiscuit is making a dash for the finish line...let's see if War Admiral has the stuff to keep up...Did you get my message about Mark Larson this am? Larson(Arnold supporter) seems to think that the election might take 38 or 39 days to validate and that no matter the outcome, the election result will be tied up in the courts forever!

You know - that will really p*ss me off if it gets tied up in the courts. I'm totally O.K. with whoever wins tomorrow - I just want this election to be OVER WITH!!

This recall has opened my eyes to how desperate and corrupt the CA G.O.P. is and has made me appreciate Tom McClintock even more than I did before. He has really done an outstanding job. He has been the shining light.Exactly!

I'll be terribly busy today, so I don't know when and how often I will check in today. (Of course tomorrow I'll be glued to the television and computer.)
Just wanted to pass along that I will be voting tomorrow with my 18 year-old daughter. It's her first time. After giving it much thought, reading up on the candidates and issues, and discussing the matter with her college friends (and me, of course), she decided that she will be voting for Tom McClintock tomorrow. She told me she just thought he was the best person for the job, and she wanted to do "the right thing."
I am so proud of my girl. Can you tell?
