Rod Frelinghuysen (R-NJ) and Newt Gingritch both were just on FoxNews.

Both were saying that the Bush Admin needs to get out in front of these new stories, PR wise.

Newt said he couldn't understand why GWB allowed the Kay report to be portrayed negatively for 48 hours without a response--even though the report basically says Saddam had the elements to create WMD.

The NJ Congressman said essentially the same thing--that GWB is not getting the word out that "good" is happening in Iraq and in the war on terror.

Someone needs to wake up the WH. A week of negatives sink into peoples' psyches. Then when the Admin denies them, the opposition cries "lie"--and it appears that the Admin is -- lying.

The Clinton Admin would spin, sometimes even minutes before the negative story hit the airwaves. They were ahead of the game--thus, even the most severe negatives did not stick.

The Bush2 Admin needs to take a page from the Clinton playbook. They need to be on-air in minutes, not days, of breaking news that the media is spinning negatively.

It is a long way to Nov 2004, and a lot more negative stories will surface weekly/monthly against the GWB Admin before then. Rove/Bush/Hughes/whoever-is-in-charge of the GWB campaign need to activate a PR group for the immediacy of breaking negative news. Why---duh! Look at the poll numbers. They are sinking. The left's negative campaign is working, working, working. The GWB Administration is slowly melting, melting, melting, as the left portrays it as the Wicked Witch of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.

I think that Bush is playing Texas poker, and will show his hand once Kay's team finds some actual WMD, then he can finaly tell the world "sit down and STFU"

The President held a press conference at 10:30 Friday morning... How much more out front do you want him to be?

Actually, Bush on Friday morning made a couple of comments to reporters that he thought the report justified the action taken against Saddam's regime. And friggin' Bloomberg managed to lie that Bush claimed that the report proved the threat was "imminent", when Bush said no such thing in his comments. I guess the Dems have such a case of imminence on the brain that they just reflexively add it to any story about Iraq and WMDs.

Someone needs to wake up the WH.

What would you like the President to do? Hold an impromptu press conference?

Oh wait. He did that on Friday, on the way to his helicopter. Talked specifically about Kay's report.

Maybe he should address the American people?

Oh wait. He did that on Saturday, during his weekly radio address.

When are folks going to realize the message is intentionally being ignored by the media? Geez. I think Hell would freeze over if people quit blaming the GOP and started blaming the media and Democrats.
