Jindal refused to go negative in his campaigning. Very refreshing.

Old age and treachery will beat youth, skill, and a sunny demeanor every time.
The Louisiana election is far from over. Treacherous old guys have been running that state a long while now.

My prediction: Blanco cuts an Edwards-style deal with the black political groups to deliver their votes to her.
Jindal runs a clean campaign. He can; he's bright and well-educated and has good ideas. The white people of Louisiana (less the Cajuns and the Left) all vote for him. It's not enough. Even though Jindal represents an honest future and an end to politics as usual, he gets beat.
All the blacks, Cajuns, and Leftists vote for Blanco. Blanco wins. The system rejoices and it's back to dirty, back-room-deal, corrupt Louisiana politcs as usual.
Watch as almost no blacks vote for the first person of color to ever have a chance to be governonr of Louisiana. Why? because that person doesn't believe in their beloved Victim Politics; he knows that hard work can make any man a success - that even, say, the son of immigrants who works hard at it can one day be a Rhodes scholar, a great success, and even run for governor. Watch the blacks of Louisiana decide the election. Watch Louisiana stay mired in a crooked past.
Sad, really sad. But at least it's not California.
