Actor's misdeeds failing to sway advantage to Davis
Poll indicates blackball for governor, green light for actor
By Daniel Borenstein
TIMES POLITICAL EDITOR

Absent a last-minute surge, voters Tuesday will oust Davis, making him only the second governor in the nation's history to ignominiously exit midterm at the hands of a recall.
"It looks like the recall passes," Elway said. "That number has been pretty solid for a long time across a number of different polls. It looks like Schwarzenegger wins. And it looks like the bigger the turnout, the bigger he wins."
The reports about Schwarzenegger's behavior surfaced Thursday morning, after the first night of the survey. The poll found a momentary surge Friday in recall opposition. But results from Saturday showed the numbers returning to the level of the first two days of polling.

All the mud ads on TV are expected..such a willing accomplice in the LA Times just makes all the protestations of 'no liberal bias' sickening.
I'm at the polls first thing Tues.

Could luck California, you were caught between a rock and a hard place. Whether you like him or not, godspeed to Arnold.

Duh. We just had a past president who did much worse. The sheeple are desensitized to it. And let's be honest, given the slutty behavior of women nowadays, their victimhood status is about to flush away.

I thought you only did religion of peace alerts? Oh well, Clinton's bad deeds didn't seem to sway people's opinions of him much either.

Clinton's poll numbers went UP every time he raped a woman.

That's a pretty good point, and one that has not been fully explored. The Democrats thought they had won by keeping Clinton in office despite VERY credible allegations of rape, among other things.
They obviously didn't consider how it would desensitize that issue. Even the most wildly fanatical Demoncrap has to be experiencing giggle moments when she thinks about all the hoops she jumped through to justify Clinton's behavior as she waves her "no groper" signs now.

Suddenly character no longer matters to Republicans, and Dems are trying to take the high ground. It's pretty pathetic watching the role reversal. Liars and hypocrites--looks like we're surrounded.

And let's be honest, given the slutty behavior of women nowadays, their victimhood status is about to flush away. That's an interesting point, and one that I haven't heard anyone else make ... but I would tend to agree. I mean, with Britney and Madonna openly similulating lesbian behaviour in front of millions of viewers, who can get excited about a little groping? Methinks some pretty ugly chickens are coming home to roost on the Rats.

Wasn't there only one likely known rape (unless you include the systematic rape of innocent womens' reputations)?
To: ambrose
Character does matter. But comparing Arnold to Clinton does not wash. Clinton has done far worse things. And the false Hitler accusations by people who know it is not true are offensive and makes one dismiss or question the validity of other accusations.
Speaking of character, what choice do voters have? Surely Davis and Bustemante have far worse character than Arnold.

Yes, it seems every time he raped a woman, his poll numbers among women went up.
What's wrong with this picture? Absolutely nothing.
Unintended consequences area a bitch.
I always marvelled, in the 60s and 70s, at the trend which glorified ignorance and even invented "multiculturalism" as something good.
Never in my worst nightmares did I ever imagine that doublespeak would become the norm, and that it would seriously be discussed in news analyses, and talked about as anything other than a joke.
