Here is my response to ESPN.
"Subject: Take NFL Countdown off the air!
I am deeply offended by Mr. Jackson's racist comments on the show today! The fact that he doesn't see the reverse racist articles eveyday in the papers, that calling the media racist is not a racist statement, is deeply racist to me. Racism is a fact of life that will remain with us till the end of the world. Ok so now we can't even say that a player is black? We can't point out the press's love affair of black quarterbacks? I guess it is OK to point out that a player is white. I guess it would be OK to point out that a white quarterback is worse than a black quarterback. Your show smacks of racism against whites, because you fire Rush but Mr. Jackson can spout off his racist views, with impunity! The fact that you ignore reverse racism is racist!"
I didn't take much time wordsmithing it. To angry!

Me too. Doug Williams QBing the Redskins to a SB victory in '88 should've put an end to the discussion. Teams just want to win, and could care less about the skin color of their athletes. I think the argument could be made that while there is a segment of the media interested in supporting athletes because they're black (think John Saunders of The Sports Reporters, whose topics always seem to revolve around race), that segment is quite small. The majority of beat writers are concerned only with winning.
And that's where the argument should've been: Rush's comments weren't racist; they were simply not supported by fact.

"Those ratings increases must have been a real burden too."
They can kiss those goodbye ... after today.

I had already logged off for the morning and was getting ready to hit the treadmill and weights while watching the Pregame Shows while working out...........I logged back on to make this paraphrased comment: "We came to bury Rush, not to praise him". {/paraphrase}
I thought their comments were pretty crappy considering the manner and tone in which Rush treated this subject on his show: REVERECE & PROFESSIONALISM.
Rush's sentiments towards the show, football, and his colleagues were not returned.
Gotta go lift some weights. Ciao.

Incidentally, what did the crew ever say about Matt Millen's fine? If they spoke out against it at least they'd have some credibility on the subject.
Anyone know if the topic was addressed?

Lest we not forget who ultimately owns ESPN: the king of diversity and all things leftist: Michael Eisner. The man who is driving Disney over the cliff.

And I'm sure we'll hear the same PC garbage spewed from mouthpieces on the CBS and Fox pregame shows in twenty minutes.

Perhaps Rush will buy the show; if only for the pleasure of cleaning house.
Will he hire his ex maid to clean house?

"because you fire Rush..."

Rush bent over backwards to be kind to the ESPN cast I thought. Saying they were long time cast members and did not want to have politics brought into the show and he could understand that.
Anyone closely following the two shows now knows who is a standup guy and who isn't.

I've never watched this show, but I listened to Rush on Friday, and he was much more gracious towards these men than they appear to be towards him.

Bull crap! I was suspected that they gave him the choice of resigning or being fired. Now I know!
To: smith288
Michael too, huh? I guess he's forgotten when the only man in Dallas to stand by him by coming to his court appearance - which was televised - was a white man ... Troy Aikman.
Not Emmitt, not Deion but Troy.
Mike is weak, but I always thought he meant well - guess I was wrong.

Look, it is well known that Rush was told that Jackson said either Rush goes or he goes. They then waited for Rush to fall on his sword, because they knew he would do the classy thing. If he didnt, they would have fired him anyway.

I think Rush walked into a trap. He is very controversial, even if many of us agree with him. Putting him in this type of a format, where he has to toss a red flag in order to say anything, and be limited to only 3 challenges, just shows how absurd the whole thing really was. Every time he said anything, you could see the skepticism on Young's, Irvin's, and Jackson's face. Boomer was pretty conciliatory... until today evidently.

Why are there no picket lines outside of ESPN! Why are we taking this lying down. Are there no spokesmen for racism against whites!
