Is anybody watching the show? Can you believe what they are saying? Talking about stabing someone in the back!

But it shouldn't have surprised anyone that ESPN didn't stick up for him--after all, they did fire him/force him to resign. What did surprise me was how badly they kicked him when he was down.

Perhaps Rush will buy the show; if only for the pleasure of cleaning house.

I hope the two black guys don't comment on a white player on there show. They set the bar. You can't comment on a player out of your race.

Tom Jackson inferred that Rush should not have been hired. In essence, he seemed happy that Rush had been silenced. (How dare someone be allowed to express a view I don't agree with!) Not one of these wimps stood up and supported the right to speak one's mind. They should be wearing pink tu-tus.

A disgusting display of PC fascism.

Goodby ESPN.

The numbers for NFL countdown were up ....

I guarantee we wont see ratings for that show anymore either by downplay or just not reporting it. They are destined to plummet. Mark my words.

If it wasn't for Rush, I would have never known that McNabb was Black. I now know that the press never caters to Blacks and minorities like I once thought. And I now know that Tom Jackson and Michael Cokehead are not on the show because they are Black. I also know that me and all other Whites are racists, except PC think liberals. I thank Rush and PravdABCSPN for clearing those things up for me.

Enjoy those CNN like ratings in the future. FOX ROX!!!

Pray for GW and the Truth

Despicable.

I had to send ESPN a note while the show was segment was still on.

Jackson's commentary was really classless.

I could not sit through it. I changed the channel. For some reason, I expected them to be men and defend Rush. Instead, Tom Jackson pandered like the pussy I now know him to be. I will never watch them again.

I did the same thing too. At the beginning of this controversy, Berman said he didn't think of it as that big a deal. Now he says he has a problem waking up this morning. Jackson is all over Rush saying it wasn't his decision to bring in Rush. It was management's. Rush is known for his divisiveness. He was supposed to be the voice of the fan, not bring his (racist) political opinions in. He was all but calling Rush a racist who never should have been there in the first place. Where was that anger when another ESPN analyst, Brian Cox, said that Keith Brookings, a white LB for the Atlanta Falcons, was only noticed because he was white? That was more offensive than Limbaugh's take. I see Cox still has his job.

I know I'm not going to be watching this show anytime soon.

Looking back at RUsh's quote....he did say "I hate to say."

Looks like he is full of hate...ESPN is right < /sarcasm>

The comments of Berman and Jackson were disgusting.

They lied when they said race was never brought up on the show. I can remember when they obsessed about Tony Dungee being fired "because he was black", and they implied that the owners of the Bucs were racists.

I guess no more comments that Jason Sehorn gets more attention from the media because he's the only white cornerback. The thing is, they would be exactly right.

Cox said that? Keith Brookings gets noticed because he's good, except the Falcon defense is playing awful so far this year.

Juxtapose their comments with the ones that Rush made on his radio show Friday. Put simply, Rush was classy and they were classless. Rush had nothing but nice things to say about everyone on ESPN. He said (in so many words) that Tom Jackson was a great guy and no one had more knowledge about football than he does. Said positive things about Irvin too, that he was doing a tremendous job making the transition from player to analyst. At the very least the Countdown crew should have not mentioned the episode and instead have moved forward. This though, this cowardly backstabbing is something that will turn me completely away from ESPN except when one of my favorite teams are playing.

Finally on a larger note, i have to say i've really been disgusted with how far to the left the sporting world has moved over the last few years...this is but yet another example of that.

Jackson was the worst. He went beyond the comments last Sunday to pass judgment on Rush's radio show, claiming that he has always divided people and that statement about the little kid now asking if blacks are allowed to play QB was way over the top.
I heard Rush on Friday talking in very complimentary terms about Jackson and Irvin and their relationship. Either Rush was lying, or Jackson got severe heat from PC left and was forced into saying this garbage, Nonetheless this was a lynching in broad daylight. If ESPN thinks this is now over and they've had the last word, they are badly mistaken. The assault on Rush was breathtaking in its hypocricy.

The media is in a wad over this because Rush attacked them, not McNabb, and they know it. The media can spin it a hundred different ways but cannot actually change what Rush said or his meaning. The liberals have been intentionally detrimental to minorities, especially blacks, because it gives them a weapon against conservatives. They are sacrificing McNabb, and all blacks to get Rush off the air completely. After-all, he is the voice of conservatism.

I bet Drudge reports it. He started out doing ratings reports and he's not afraid to do it.

Steve Young was the only one who acted reasonable, saying that what Rush overlooked was that the QB position hasn't been about race for many years. For the most part I agree.

Me too. Doug Williams QBing the Redskins to a SB victory in '88 should've put an end to the discussion. Teams just want to win, and could care less about the skin color of their athletes.
