Well, the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation is not Texas A&M Universty. What idiot wrote the title to this? This means Teddy is coming to town to foul our air. Is it poetic justice that the site of the library was formerly a pig farm?

I would like to know just what type public service this drunk has done. Drowning his secretary is certainly not one of them.

Well, it's a misleading title, but I'm disappointed that anybody in Aggieland would let this idiot on their campus. Good old Teddy, now there's a WMD if I ever saw one.

When Ted Kennedy heard about this, he responded:
"I'll drink to that."

The Bush Library Board of Directors needs to be cleaned out immediately. This type of thing happened to Rockefeller too, when his kids took over. Outright communists and socialists.
To: Texaggie79
Grrrr.........who in the heck sits on this Foundation and who appoints them? Personally, I would prefer Ted Kennedy never set foot in Texas. We should institute some sort of visa process so we can pick and choose who we allow to visit. For instance, yesterday John Kerry was in Texas. I tell you, this is some sort of Massachusetts plot to take over!

maybe he can get the Mary Jo Kopechne swimming award from the University of Texas swim team while he's there? It's only 90 minutes drive to Austin. Alerting my Aggie friends, time for a new bonfire!

Note that Fat Teddy is being given this award by the "The George Bush Presidential Library FOUNDATION."
This is typical of how foundations behave. A founder donates money, a board is formed, professional foundation geeks are hired, and first thing you know they're all doing the exact opposite of what the donors intended. Almost all foundations turn liberal, sooner or later, because almost all the professional foundation flunkies are liberals.
It happened to the Ford Foundation. Henry Ford II quit the board in disgust. Now it's happening to the Bush Library Foundation, and the founder isn't even dead yet. GHWB was given a choice. Either he could swallow his feelings, put on his black tie, and present the award, or he could denounce his own foundation, go away mad and refuse to have anything more to do with it. It's absolutely typical.

It's all a big mistake; a little adult website, named Texas S&M, is giving the Tub a "Bush Award for Pubic Service."

This is Kennedy's reward for viciously snarling about conspiricies hatched in Texas?
Note to self: to recieve awards and adulation stoop to Kennedy's level of backstabbing and back-room coercion. Stop earning things by working for them; that's for suckers.

Good grief.
Kennedy to receive Bush Award for Excellence [Full Text]COLLEGE STATION -- U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy will receive the 2003 George Bush Award for Excellence in Public Service.
The award, which recognizes an individual's or group's dedication to public service at the local, state, national or international levels, will be presented to the Democratic lawmaker at a dinner ceremony Nov. 7 following a speech by Kennedy at Texas A&M University's Rudder Auditorium.
Former President Bush will present the award to Kennedy, who will join former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev and former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl as recipients.
Kennedy has represented Massachusetts in the United States Senate since he was first elected in 1962 to fill the seat vacated by his brother, President John F. Kennedy. Since then, he has been re-elected seven times, and is now the second most senior member of the Senate.
Recently, Kennedy has been one of current President Bush's harshest critics over the Iraq war.
Former President Bush has the sole discretion on who receives the award, said Penrod Thornton, deputy director of the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation. Thornton said he doesn't think the award is anything other than a way for Bush to honor Kennedy.
"Knowing President Bush, it was more about personalities and contributions of the individuals and it didn't have anything to do with politics," Thornton told the Bryan-College Station Eagle for its Saturday editions.
Recipients of the Bush Award receive a custom crystal sculpture designed by Eric Hilton for Steuben of New York, as well as a $20,000 cash prize. [End]

I wonder what fat Kennedy's response will be. When President Bush named the Justice Dept. Bldg. (Is that right?) after Robert F. Kennedy, the Kennedy's were rude and insulting. In other words, they were their typical partisan selves. Something tells me Fat Teddy will be a no show for this.
