Prime Minister Sharon should simply issue a decree stating that the next act of terror to occur in Israel will result in the expulsion or death of Arafat, whichever comes first.

I want to see a genuinely nonfraudulent NY Times editorial on the front page (where they normally put editorials)wholeheartedly endorsing the foregoing plan of attack in the morning paper. The actual editorial page must also toe this line. And let's get rid of the terrorists we can find, please. Let's eliminate the root causes of terrorism: terrorists, terror groups, terror supporters, terror financiers, terror justifiers, terror imams, Palestinian terrorists, and terror states. I see, and that's a new development. Many Israeli security guards have given their lives to block incoming terrorists, saving untold numbers of Israelis. So now, carry a gun and shoot the guard first.

They've learned, and that will probably be standard operational procedure for the terrorists from now on. This can't continue.

I do pray for the wounded, and comfort for all the families involved. Also wisdom for the Israeli government to know the best thing to do, and the courage to do whatever it is.

Islam is a form of spiritual rabies

Interesting analogy.

Richard Dawkins, a well known humanist author from Oxford, once wrote that he considered religion to be a "self propagating idea", not unlike a computer virus is a self propagating program.

By this analysis, he considered the self propagating part of Christianity to be some thing like:

1. Anyone who is not a Christian is destined to spend eternity in Hell.
2. It is the duty of all Christians to prevent the suffering of others.

While he did not include Islam in his analysis, from my informal studies of the basis of Islam, I would submit that it would look something like this:

1. Any follower of Islam must submit himself totally to Allah.
2. It is the duty of all Muslims to convert everyone to Islam, by force, if necessary, and to kill them if they refuse.

While I admit that many here would no more except the ideas of Richard Dawkins than they would those of Noam Chomsky, it makes an interesting point:

Even by this purely secular analysis, Islam is evil to it's core.

Cardinal, you know FR posting drops on the weekends, and right now it's almost 9 a.m. in California, for instance.

And I'll never forget last year. For a while there were daily terrorist bombing, sometimes two. I lost count after awhile, and was numbed to the point of thinking, "Oh that's better, only 8 Israelis were killed this time as opposed to the last attack when 15 Israelis were killed....". And that was so pathetic, but it went on day after day.

Don't worry, we still remember. like Xjones said it's the weekend, but we still remember even if we're not as verbose. How many times can we say the same thing over and over. It's discouraging. By now we want someone to take some action rather than just talk. :-(

Enough is Enough. Why doesn't Israel end this once and for all?

Because of intense pressure from the US to do little or nothing about it. I know it sucks, but that is the answer. My feeling is, there will be no peace till the other side is decisively defeated by military force, once and for all.
