Another scientist, who was "really golden for us," was shot six times but survived, he said. Kay declined to name them. Kay did reveal, however, that the scientist's code name was "Lucky."

Geez, I certainly hope they give this guy US citizenship.
He and his family earned it fair and square.
Get him out of there, pronto!

The reason this war was fought is because of terrorism. Eventhough I think it was the majority of people think the WMD evidence was NOT strong enough to bring to the forefront to base this war on. Bush might have had plenty of reasons to go to war with Iraq, but WMD should not have been the targeted reason.
It doesn't even matter now if WMD are found, it's too late!! With the drop in recent polls Bush is going to find that people are not going to have confidence him because of the stupidy he has shown on this issue.

It is also investigating multiple reports from Iraqis of WMD or weapons-related substances being moved across borders into Iran, Syria and Jordan. "We have in several of the cases confirmed that there were actually movements on the date, on the route, to the locations they have identified," Kay said, adding that his team had no proof that it was WMD material being moved.
This says: Several Iraqis have told them of shipments of WMDs across borders. U.S. Intelligence (satellite probably IMHO) have confirmed that shipments of SOMETHING occurred on the date, time and route claimed by the Iraqis but that same Intelligence cannot confirm the contents.
Coming from multiple Iraqi sources that is pretty good evidence that material was moved and that material was in all liklihood WMD related. Not a slam dunk but getting closer to the truth.

Another one for your ping list, I think.

Two Iraqi scientists were shot in Baghdad after they talked to the U.S.-led team hunting weapons of mass destruction in Iraq This is so weird. Why on earth would they be shot for "helping" the U.S. team find what we all now know doesn't exist? /sarcasm
To: Dr. Frank
What is weirder is how the scientists were not protected....talk about incompetancy. Is Homer Simpson running this operation?

This is an intelligence-led operation...
Based on the CIA's performance the last couple of years, that's what worries me.

If anything, George Bush should be hammered for uselessly dithering many months away foolishly listening to the Democrats and the UN, thereby allowing Saddam to get the stuff cleanly out of the country.
So, now he is being mercilessly hammered by his political enemies because nothing is "there"!
You'd think a man as smart as Bush would get tired of being sucker-punched by these hypocritical slimeballs. But, his record shows he continues to bravely line up his chin and their fists for another round.

The absolute idiocy of making this information public just blows my mind. Is this guy a clone of Hans Blix?

What is weirder is how the scientists were not protected....talk about incompetancy. Well, that is weird too. But in all fairness, incompetence is not the only possible explanation. Limited-resources could be another explanation. Or (most likely) some combination of the two.
In any event, all that is still not so weird as is the fact that there are apparently people so worried about Iraqian scientists revealing something that doesn't exist to the Americans, that they are willing to kill them over it.

The report is only a well constructed summary. There's also the documentation behind this report. I can just imagine the boxes of documents and also the "valuable" people who are involved.
It makes me think of Kelly who would have been back in Iraq three weeks after the date of his death. He was considered "Golden", too.

God bless those Iraqis who are putting their lives on the line for us. If not for these brave men and women, our troops would be in grave danger, far beyond what we are seeing today.
May the truth be set free.

Is Homer Simpson running this operation? WMD = Weapons of Mass D'oh!
