Prayer for the troops and for the prayer warriors, ping!
"Dear Lord,
Lest I continue
My complacent way
Help me remember
Somewhere out there
A man died for me today
--As long as there be war
I then must
Ask and answer
Am I worth dying for?" *
~~~~~~~~~
TEXOKIE, thank you!
List addition Ping!
My former co-worker, CW2 Mary, an intelligence analyst posted to Baghdad, just sent this in e-mail:
I need to move to a different office! Last week they mortared us; yesterday, rockets. And one actually hit. I am safer when I work dowtown:)
She's a sharp young lady, but it looks like she could benefit from some dedicated FReeper prayers!
Thanks.
OBTW, CW2 is Chief Warrant Officer 2.
HiJinx has reported to us in post 82 that a former co-worker friend who is working in intelligence in Iraq has been under recent mortar and rocket fire. Her job is as an analyst, basically a desk job, so we need to remember that ALL of our troops are in danger, not just the ones who are out there patrolling.
Please join in prayer for this situation concerning danger to our troops:
Beloved Father in Heaven,
We have learned that there have been recent mortar and rocket attacks on buildings housing some of our military intelligence analysts. Father, we ask humbly that you will keep each of these young men and women safe. They are doing a tremendously important job for all of us, and so we commend them into your keeping.
Father, we ask that each of these working in intelligence, both in operations and in analysis, be granted extraordinary insight, wisdom, and the ability to see clear patterns from very sparse hints. We ask that you will enfold them with our armored prayer blankets. We ask that you will clear the way by our prayer bullets and your Might, all opposition to them being able to do the jobs they are called upon to do. In the name of our Lord, go to the source of those rockets and mortars! Root out those who would use such weapons to further their desire to have Chaos reign in Iraq and the middle east! Father, reveal to our troops where those weapons are as well as the ones who use them so that the danger they represent may be neutralized! We call forth the protection of all who are working in military intelligence, and oceans of mercy from your heart so that they may be return to us safe and victorious.
Father, while our focus this morning is upon those working in military intelligence, we are not without thought for each of our soldiers, marines, sailors, airmen, coast guarders, and civilian intelligence who are serving the Holy Cause of Freedom this day. Bless all of these who serve under arms, Blessed Father. Keep them safe and let them return to us upon their completion of the jobs and assignments they have undertaken. Let each one know of a certitude how very proud and grateful we are to them.
We bow to your Holy Will in our prayers for this entire situation.
Amen
FrogMom- son-in-law SSG Mike in Baldad, Iraq, husband and father of two adorable children Mike arrived home on Friday (10-10-03) after being extended several times.
He was happy to be home (hot showers, hot food, good hugs) and his family was SOOOO glad to see him.
Remember when they restored power to the Baghdad airport? That was Mike!
We are thankful that he came home safely and grateful to each of you for every prayer said on his behalf. We are thankful that the Lord heard and protected him and his comrades while over there.
We remember all our soldiers and those serving in foreign lands to protect those at home. My head is bowed with gratitude every day for their sacrifice.
We can never adequately repay their service, but we can and do pray for their safety and comfort.
Hooray for SSG Mike and his Mrs.!
This is good news, news that I hope we continue to hear. We should all know that we are going to rotate a whole lot of troops through Iraq (and Afghanistan, and other hotspots like the Phillipines and Malaysia).
It is my fervent prayer that all who deploy, and their families, are held in God's capable hands while in harm's way; and that all come home safely.
