In the middle of this report is a characterization of Hugh Hewitt as an "AM Radio Shock Jock." Are you kidding me?

Obviously NPR is as liberal as it gets, but I have posted here before when people have taken their reports out of context for the purposes of bashing them, criticizing them for making stuff up when there is so much real materail. But I almost fell out of my chair when I heard this. I would think some of Mr. Hewitt's fans might want to make their feelings known.

Actually from their perspective they are correct!!

A conservative speaking out is always "shocking" to a liberal.

He is a shock jock because he professes to believe in a higher power than himself. That would be Kryponite to NPR.

After reading his fantasy-like analysis of the debate, I'd call him a Crock Jock.

Hugh Hewitt is no longer a conservative according to Tom McClintock supporters. Hewitt is evil and a stealth DU commie Democrat--as are ALL of Arnold Scwarzenneger supporters...

I'm getting so angry at all of this garbage. I'm voting for Arnold! I'm voting for Arnold! I'm voting for Arnold!

If only to get back at nasty McClintock supporters, (nothing personal against McClintock himself) Bustamante, Davis, Muholland, The LA Times, Bill & Hillary Clinton, NOW, Arianna, Terry McCauliffe and the entire DNC machine.

You have to listen to it?

I don't think so.  NPR creeps me out.  Literally.  No joke.

I can't quite put my finger on it but I sort of go into a smarmistic trance anytime I accidentally listen to 5 minutes of NPR.  I think it's the inhuman pace (in the actors sense of pace) of the speech plus the effected inflection

Between the pace and inflection, it sounds like "The Stepford News Network"

In any event....I think this characterization would amuse Hugh.

"You're kidding right??"

I wish I was. I listened to it a couple of times to make sure. The Hewitt show I listen to doesn't resemble Howard Stern, et al. Maybe there's a different Hewitt?

"You have to listen to it?"

Unfortunately my wife enjoys it. She gets angry when they display their "obvious" liberal bias, like stories about how budget cuts will effect welfare recipients, but in other respects thinks that it's a more dignified source of news then you can get on AM radio.

Otherwise, she's a nice lady though. And it doesn't hurt to know what the enemy's thinking.

Hugh Hewitt is a fine commentator, and conservatives cannot quarrel with him on his philosophy. His embrace of Arnold is a lapse on his part -- like a sports fan rooting for the home team no matter what the obstacles. After all is said and done in a year or two, one probably can't tell that much of anything has changed in CA with Arnold at the helm. Arnold could also get very bored with this job, resign in disgust and turn it over to Bustamante after all.

NPR should have it's funds cut off. We'll see how well it floats then. NPR has basicly become a "Shock Quazi Pirate Radio" network. Why should we continue to fund this on-air presense of socialist mores doing the democrat's bidding?

So Saturday Night Live hit the nail on the head with NPR???

SNL's parody of NPR kills me every time I see it!

Hewitt's total sell-out is shocking.

But he is the epitome of not being a shcok jock.

I listend to Hewitt from the beginning of his KRLA (then KIEV) stint. I listend when he was on KFI. I like Hugh. Always have.

But, I fear now his ratings will slide slowly. I saw another person say he won't listen to Hugh any more. I still will, but not as much.

He already was partially bumped for Savage, which I didn't like.

But, well Hugh, you alienate a large part of your listener base and your ratings will go down.

About two minutes into this four-and-a-half minute report, there is a short audio clip from Hugh, who is identified (by NPR reporter John McChesney) as "AM radio shock jock Hugh Hewitt."
