Oct. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Members of Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda terrorist network had contacts with Islamic groups in Germany's former capital, Bonn, a regional government official said today.
Members of the groups who are suspected of maintaining links to al-Qaeda are still being monitored by officers from Germany's Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Ludger Harmeier, spokesman for the Interior Ministry in North Rhine-Westphalia, where Bonn is located, said in a telephone interview.
