Hmmmmmm.....I have mixed feelings about bats. I know they are one of God's magnificent creatures and they serve their purpose in the food chain, but listening to their sounds just gave me chills. They are not my favorite things. Although I would love to watch the thousands of them leaving the carverns at dusk. Must be an amazing sight....as long as none of them come too close to me.

My daughter had just turn 2. My son Douglas was just a few weeks old.

We were awaken in the middle of the night by a bat flying around our bedroom back in NC.

I scooped up Douglas, wrapped us in a blanket and barricaded us in Amanda's room.

The funny part was, my husband running around the house for the next hour or two wearing just a baseball cap and briefs chasing the bat with a broom.
