Kuwait foils smuggling of chemicals, bio warheads from Iraq Associated Press Kuwait City, October 2
Kuwaiti security authorities have foiled an attempt to smuggle $60 million worth of chemical weapons and biological warheads from Iraq to an unnamed European country, a Kuwaiti newspaper said on Wednesday. The pro-Government Al-Siyassah, quoting an unnamed security source, said the suspects had been watched by security since they arrived in Kuwait and were arrested "in due time." It did not say when or how the smugglers entered Kuwait or when they were arrested.
The paper said the smugglers might have had accomplices inside Kuwait. It said Interior Minister Sheik Nawwaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah would hand over the smuggled weapons to an FBI agent at a news conference, but did not say when.
Government officials could not be immediately reached for comment.
Iraqi Interior Minister Nouri Al-Badran met on Tuesday with Sheik Nawwaf and discussed cooperation between the two countries in security matters. His visit is the first by an Iraqi interior minister to Kuwait since 1990.

That's the beauty of it: it changed all by itself.
Now tomorrow you'll have to find the archived version if you want it to always be in the thread.

I think that the libs saw this coming, and the problem with the traitors caught in Gitmo with connections to traitors in America, both American Islamonazis and Rat Politicians like $inator Hildebea$t who have received money from them.
They have had the sequel to the Yellowcake Scam on their back burners and blogs since the middle of July. So they released Yellowcake Scam II last Friday to hide the good news for our side and the bad news for their side.
The lunatic lefties in charge of the mediots and videoits will not allow the real stories to get out with good coverage. They have been playing this game since about 1960.

My 2 cents.
For what they try to impeach pres Clinton? For he poped that girl? I guess not. For he lied about it.
Same way is this matter. War was reasonable but why lie about it? Why do propaganda, make misrepresentions, distort inellegence?
Why not to go forward and say it is just for prevention and progression of ME. Sadam is no danger now but he will if to lift UN sanctions.
It seems that pres Bush has very bad advisers. He rather fired them.

If you read the actual statements made by the president and the whole adminstration during the year leading up to the war
finding weapons of mass destruction was
never the main justification. That is a bald faced lie by the president's political opponents and their cohorts in our press.
The explicit (to anyone who can read or listen) justification for going to war was just what you stated, that is we could not afford to wait until Saddam had nuclear weapons in hand because (like the answer Roosevelt got from his secretary when he asked her opinion of what Hitler would do if he had a bomb that could destry a city) he would use it!

This story, sadly, ins't going to see the light of day. The media is too busy with Koby, Rush, Arnold, Grey, Busta' and the negative stories comming out of Iraq, not to mention the Democratic Presidential clowns. Besides the administration's own people are saying the chances of finding WMD's are fading.

Thanks for the link. Very insightful read.
Too bad our media isn't reporting the same information. But then, I'd never expect them to.

The article is here on FR - search for "Kuwait" and you should find it. WMD was $60 mil - not $16 mil. Also be aware there is another story about museum pieces being found in Kuwait also - but they are separate stories.

Sir I red the Powell speech in UN. There was lot of slides, airial photos and so on. The main thought was Saddam has WMD he didn't disarm so he didn't comply UN resolution to disarm. Hence UN have to authorize to use of force to disarm Saddam. It was justification of war isn't it?
This speech happened half year ago. No one forget it.
It was mistake.
So as claim of Tony Blair that Saddam ready to bomb UK with WMD during about 40 minutes. It wasn't true either.
It wasn't media who did those mistakes. But of cause media dissiminated them very widely.

Well, he certainly seemed to have had some around about the time he was gassing Kurdish villages and Iranian trenches.
If there is a poionous snake in your backyard do you wait until it bites and kills a member of your family or do you take a shovel, dig it out of its hole, and cut its head off?
The point of taking Saddam out was not that we were certain he possessed chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons. The point was that he did in the past and had the infrastructure in place to make them again. The latter fact was what Colin Powell established in his speech to the UN and it is now documented in the October 2 report.
Our worry here, tragically based on recent experience which of all people I'd expect a Russian to understand, is that the next attack on us won't involve the killing of a few thousand but a few million. Now, something like may very well happen anyway, but we will do our best to reduce the odds.
The war to depose Saddam was preventative and as a side or perhaps even prime benefit it allows us to take our troops off Saudi Arabian soil and thereby remove one major recruiting tool of the radical Islamists.
You are entitled to your opinion, but one of the last words I'd use to describe the elimination of a regime like Saddam and his Baath Party is "mistake".
