Warren Moon Says Limbaugh's "Comments Were Racist", and That He "Has Always Said Racist Things"
Posted on 10/02/2003 8:08:18 PM PDT by Libs R Evil
Warren Moon was just on Great Van Sustern's rotten show saying that Rush Limbaugh said was racist and he said he's always said racist things but this time he got caught. And James Brown from FOX mostly agreed.

People who think like warren moon and the race politicians are keeping us from having an honest discussion about race relations in this country. Their thinking has been programmed into them and you can't tell them anything different. Just for the record, that's my thoughts on this and not Bill O'Reilly's. He said almost the same thing tonight.

Warren Moon was slimed in the press while he wtas a Minnesota Viking for wife-beating. I used to be sympathetic about it. Yow! The only thing lower than a wife-beater is a child molester. This is one Canadian (coincidentaly, also an expatriate to Minnesota) who has no pride in coming from the same country as Moon.
To: Alberta's Child
Moon is the very definition of an affirmative action quarterback.

Warren is still upset about how badly he choked against the Bills in the '92 playoffs. Half-time score: Warren and the Oilers 35 Bills 3. Final score: Bills 41 Warren and the Oilers 38. I was a Bills fan and loved it!

I thought it was to announce the game, not give personal opinions. What game? Rush was on NFL Countdown, a Sunday morning show where they discuss all of the day's games before the action kicks off. Rush never announced any games for ESPN.
To: Redbob
Rush is a "Racist" for suggesting that something akin to affirmative action is the only reason a black quarterback with the worst passing average in the NFL, is still in the NFL? In fact, if you think about it, he was accusing the media of being racist. The story would be completely different had he said that. Apparently it's too much to ask to be an intellectual in the face of the illiterate and incompetent.

Warren Moon has to sweep his own back steps before he talks about anyone else. And he's NOT that great a quarterback. Apparently he's a better athlete at spousal abuse.

Warren Moon?
I have a bag of Sakrete on the back porch that's more creative. I have a box of hammers in my trunk that has more insight on the modern world than Warren WIFE-BEATER Moon.

"He already had his agenda in place. IMO that is not sports broadcasting, that's editorializing, and he stuck his foot in his fat mouth when he should have been talking football." His role is commentary. And the nature of TV demands that you rehearse your comments before delivering the "take". And everything is pre-produced.
You honestly don't think these pre-game shows are spontaneous, do you? The ideal is to have them look spontaneous, while also meeting all the time hacks, camera moves and taped video cuts with split-second precision.
Watch them with that notion in mind sometime and you'll gain an appreciation for those who are producing the show, as well as the talking heads on camera.

I remember in one of Rush's first seasons, he spent at least a half hour ( maybe more ) praising Warren Moon. Moon's contract had his salary tied to his perfomance and Rush was saying what a good thing that was. I think it was the last good season Moon had.

He never said planned and rehearsed. He said he had given it thought and was thinking about doing his essay on the subject. Can you post where you read "planned and rehearsed"?

It's interesting how everyone in this thread is attacking Warren Moon (with good reason), but nobody's said a word about James Brown. If JB agreed, he's just as racist as Moon.

Harold ought to shut up.
To: RedBloodedAmerican
But he flat out attacked McNabb, even tho I think he meant to direct it at the liberal media.Ridiculous. How many gazillions of sportswriters et al have ever said that a quatrtbeback was overrated? that's an attack? Oh paalllease. That's all he did and then offer a logical explanation as to why he is overrated.
I swear you sound like the republicans in the senate--the liberals say bend over and people like you ask how far.

announce...talk about it....whatever. Was his assignment to give his personal opinions about how a player succeeded? I guess I have not heard any other sports announcer n any other field talk like that.
Granted, McNabb is overrated (IMO), but not due to race. He did well in college and it carried over.
To: RedBloodedAmerican
"Announce the game"? What game? He's not a game commentator. He was hired for the ESPN NFL Countdown show where they GIVE opinions on football.
