Interesting article. One of my family members wants me to go to Lakewood Church. I don't know Joel Osteen from Adam, but I do know that Benny Hinn recently held a church service at Lakewood for $75 a pop. What kind of 'church' charges admission? What I do know about Hinn I don't like, but said family member has asked me to come see one of Hinn's services later this month. Has anyone been or know someone who has been to one of Hinn's "healing crusades?" I don't know what to expect.
Two verses come to mind:
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (matthew)
and
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. (thessalonians)

Has anyone been or know someone who has been to one of Hinn's "healing crusades?" I've watched quite a bit of Hinn, and I think he's a carnival barker. I listen to a lot of Hank Hanagraaf, and frankly Hinn tecahes a lot of crazy stuff. If it were me, I wouldn't bother going.

I have seem Hinn live (many years ago.) I would not attend a church that thought he was in anyway sound!

Well, that bit of information is enough for me to consign Lakewood to the heresy-friendly camp. Hinn is so over the top heretical that there ought to be another word for it. and the Bible clearly gives some of it's strongest rebukes in the New Testament to those who are false teachers and those who are party to their deeds.
Let no one uderstand that any of my comments on this thread would defend ANY ministry which has truck with Benny Hinn.

Prove all things...
Nothing like getting back to basics when it comes to the truth. Unfortunately, too many professing Christians base their faith on feelings and experiences rather than the infallible Word of God.

I know little about Hinn, but that deceptive cantilevered comb-over makes me suspect he's a bit self-absorbed.
