I don´t know what to write and how to write it, I am still SO upset. I have just been watching a political magazine on German television ("panorama" on ARD), and what I have seen makes me wanna puke.

We have allowed Islamists here to build Islamic schools, where Muslims can go instead of attending German schools. In these schools they teach 8 classes of Religion, 6 of Arabic and ONE (!!!) of German each week. No need for integration here... Of course, they preach "jihad", and by no means the sugar-coated one. "Train your children in throwing javelins, swimming and fighting, so they can fight the west." WTF?!!?!?? WHY ON HEAVEN´S EARTH DO WE ALLOW THIS!?!?!?!?? Sorry about my wording but I am still SO upset. Then they showed an essay by an 11yo Turkish boy who attends on of these schools. It read sth. like "I wanna be a terrorist. I wanna be like Osama bin Laden. Osama bin Laden is great, he should destroy the Trade Center again and kill President Bush. I want to destroy the entire world" How have we gotten THIS easy on extremists??? Oh, you may now have a guess who is financing these schools. Saudia Arabia.

If it was up to me, I would ship all of this Islamist scum to Guantanamo this instant, never mind their "rights".

There's a big difference: we're not going to a German discussion forum to complain.

I didn't realize FR was only limited to Americans. Perhaps we should only discuss American news as well? Just do away with Israel topics, German topics, UK topics? That's the beauty of the internet and cyberspace. Here I am in the UK carrying on a conversation with people in different countries as if we were near each other.

How do you know this person isn't finding receptive German audiences? Perhaps he/she also likes discussing the issues here in addition to whatever audience he has at home? And for what it's worth there are some other German Freepers on the forum and at least one that I noted on the thread and a couple more who live in Germany.

Ummm. Free Republic is not Uncle Sam. And Germans call Americans Ammies not Ummies. Ammie is simply short for Amerikaner. It's not a bad word at all.

And I don't think one can say they've made their collective opinion on anything clear (other than they are a nation that doesn't like war). Germans are as deeply divided in opinion as are the citizens of the US. Schroeder didn't even get a majority of the vote in the last election. Barely 40%. And the SPD is fairly far to the right of the Greens with whom they've formed a coalition. The SPD without the Greens wouldn't be nearly so unpalatable as they are now. The Greens make up about 10% of German voters.

It's vastly more complicated than "all Germans hate America" or all Germans are opposed to American plans in the Middle East. Vastly more complicated.

I read your profile, and I appreciate your candor. I am a 100% American by birth and desire (though not by blood, as my mother is English, and my father's family came from Germany in the mid-19th century). America is filled with Americans of German descent, but virtually all consider themselves Americans first, last, and always (but we have some appreciation of our German heritage, although we will fight Germany any time it poses any kind of threat to America, either directly or indirectly: the same goes for any other country that wishes us ill). But I am disappointed that Germans have become military wimps, because for centuries they were very good militarists, with bold and capable leaders and troops. Nowadays, militarily Germany is about on a par with France, a nation and a people for whom I have nothing but contempt (why in the hell are you Germans aligning yourselves with that crowd of pederasts and cowards?).

Yeah BOT...the citizens must realize what is being done to them. The islamic malignancy is in our country to exploit our free institutions to destroy us. We need a constitutional amendment or presidential order specifying that constitutional rights do not extend to individuals or groups wishing to destroy the constitution and the penalty is immediate imprisonment without bail.
