High school students arrested for unauthorized possession of prescription pills. . . a felony in Florida

Police arrested five Cooper City High School students Thursday after school administrators found they had Xanax prescription pills.
Three students were charged with possession with intent to sell Xanax, a sedative, and the other two were charged with possession. Both are felony offenses, said Cooper City police Captain Marvin Stoner.
The charges will be enhanced because the students -- juniors and seniors -- had the drugs on school property.
Four of the students were taken to the Juvenile Intervention Facility in Fort Lauderdale. One was released to his parents for medical reasons, said Stoner.
