Here's Rush's statement posted on his website:
"I am unaware of any investigation by any authorities involving me. No governmental representative has contacted me directly or indirectly. If my assistance is required in the future, I will, of course, cooperate fully." -Rush Limbaugh

The Dems are working the leftists into a frenzy. They are trying to squeeze every last drop of loyalty out of their hardcore liberal base.
I say "Go ahead!". Maintaining their base is another great way for the libs to squander their cash before the 2004 election run.

On the other hand, Rush has not flatly denied the accusations. . . yet.
Rush...What part of no comment do you not understand?
Translation...I'm not talking till the lawsuits are filed!

Shep just reported that Rush is going to do a special 2 hour radio show starting at 6PM tonight. (I presume on ABC)

Maybe Rush IS up to something. But this story has been in the making longer than Rush has known about the Wilson problem, I feel sure. I personally think Hillary wants anyone with a lot of influence among conservatives out of the way so that her underhanded presidential campaigns will not be so quickly and clearly identified to millions.

And I suppose the $200,000+ she took is crammed in the cigar box? Surely, since we know she only came forward to be a good citizen, she's going to return the "alleged" bribe money Rush gave her and the six figures she made for blabbing will be donated to an orphanage.
Ahhhhh . . . ya gotta love them good citizens. What a country!

We all know the story about Abraham Lincoln urging his people to "Find out what Grant drinks and send a case of it to all of my generals!"
Maybe we'll find out at the news conference what Rush used so we can send a case of it to all Democrats in Congress and on the campaign trail to relieve their pain.

They must have had this reviewed by one of their lawyers.
If it was David Kendall, I wonder if he took Wilma over to let his old boss Billy Clinton have a gander at her for old times sake.

Miami Herald:
Authorities confirm Limbaugh drug investigation
Authorities in Palm Beach County are investigating a former housekeeper's claim that radio talk personality Rush Limbaugh purchased thousands of highly addictive painkillers through the black market, law enforcement sources confirmed.
The story broke in this week's National Enquirer.
Limbaugh's former housekeeper, Wilma Cline, told authorities and the tabloid that she supplied OxyContin and Hydrocodone to Limbaugh for four years, sometimes participating in exchanges in a Denny's parking lot. Cline said she was outfitted with a surveillance wire before two of the encounters.
Sources said the investigation is connected to a bust that closed a Lake Worth pharmacy in May. World Health Association is accused of illegally supplying customers more than 450,000 Hydrocode tablets, a potent and addictive drug similar to OxyContin.
Cline's attorney, Edward Shohat, issued a prepared a statement Thursday: ``Mr. Shohat is not discussing the Limbaugh case beyond the statement that his clients stand behind their story. Neither Mr. Shohat nor his clients are giving any interviews at this time.''
It's Limbaugh's second major controversy this week. Wednesday he resigned from ESPN amid an uproar over comments he made about Donovan McNabb, quarterback for Philadelphia Eagles. Limbaugh stated that McNabb was overrated because the media wanted to see a black quarterback succeed in the NFL. Limbaugh, a football devotee, author and icon of the political right, had joined ESPN's NFL Sunday Countdown just this fall.
Premier Radio Networks, which syndicates the Rush Limbaugh Show, syndicated in more than 650 markets, issued a statement from Limbaugh early Thursday saying: ``I am unaware of any investigation by any authority involving me. No government representative has contacted me directly or indirectly. If my assistance is required, I will, of course, cooperate fully.''

You are right Kosak, pain killers are a depresant which slows down your metabolism which makes you gain weight. Crack for example does the opposite.
To: george wythe
IF he is guilty of abusing drugs, I have a feeling it will have stemmed from an originally legitimate reason.
I can't help but feel one reason for his weight loss was stomach reduction surgery.
He had pain, took pills in an inappropriate manner and got hooked.
Time will tell...

Doubt Rush would pick up drugs in Denny's. On the other hand bet lefty's think Rush eats there all the time. After all they think Denny's is racist.
To: abnegation
Why would you meet your housekeeper at a gas station and not at home in private?????
Dounds fishy to me!!!

It was my understanding that he began losing weight shortly after he started dating Marta...a health nut and I believe a former aerobics instructor. I think his weight loss is due more to her than anything else.
