AN DIEGO (AP) -- Gubernatorial front-runner Arnold Schwarzenegger acknowledged that he has "behaved badly" to women and offered an apology Thursday.
Schwarzenegger's remarks, as he kicked off a four-day bus tour of the state in the final days of the recall campaign, came after a Los Angeles Times story published Thursday in which six women accused him of sexually harassing and groping them.

many of us Rhinos feel that we are conservatives, and recognize that there are different shades of conservatism. When your "shades" more closely resemble Democrat Blue than Republican Red...well, you know.

And did she report it to anyone at the time? Or just "suffer" in silence all this time until 5 days before the election?
To: NittanyLion
I'd rather not discuss your shade of Republican Red, no thanks very much.

Let me ask everyone, how did we get six women, all at the same time, exactly four days before the election, to come out and squeal? Apparently only Eunuchs are allowed to run for office. Odds are Larry Flynt was also involved.

yeah, but we're not THEIR kind of conservative. What that kind is, I'm not sure.We can start with small government.

(How ironic is it that Arnold turned out to be the spoiler?)

Among "our kind", principles matter.
Aside from that, I'm sure we're quite similar.

Maybe you have exclusive knowledge. I heard (paraphrased)"bad behavior that he thought was playful at the time". That's what I heard. How about you?
Here's what I've got... Schwarzenegger, in San Diego to kick off a four-day bus tour of the state, took the stage Thursday to chants of "Arnold, Arnold" and immediately addressed the Times story. Without mentioning specifics, he admitted to wrongdoing and apologized. "A lot of those that you see in the stories is not true, but at the same time, I have to tell you that I always say, that wherever there is smoke, there is fire," he said. < -snip- > Three of the women quoted in the times said Schwarzenegger grabbed their breasts. Another said he reached under her skirt and grabbed her buttocks. Another woman said Schwarzenegger tried to remove her bathing suit in a hotel elevator, and the sixth said Schwarzenegger pulled her onto his lap and asked whether a certain sexual act had ever been performed on her. Palm Beach Post - October 2nd, 2003
No, not exclusive knowledge.

Your obfuscation is mildly amusing, so I'll play.
What did ARNOLD SCHWARZENNEGER, CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR, exactly do?

Odds are Larry Flynt was also involved. My understanding is that they were sought out by the L.A. Times, which worked on developing this story for 7 weeks. I think the previous article in Premiere Magazine gave them their leads (according to a FReeper).

In all the cases that you mentioned -- Jones, Lewinsky, Willey, Broderick -- the individuals were available for further interview. Their names were public. Whether or not you have heard of them does not effect their status of being anonymous.
Further, none of them released their information the Thursday before an election.

When your daughter gets groped and sexually harrassed, or your son is mocked for not participating in a gangbang, will you forgive those perps too? After all, they can just say, "Arnold does it....and he's a winner!"

And did she report it to anyone at the time? Or just "suffer" in silence all this time until 5 days before the election? Yep. That IS the point here.
If real sexual harassment occurred in this day of ultra sensitivity, why were there no charges filed?
Can you imagine the bundle of money a woman could receive from a wealthy man like Arnold?
If that doesn't send up the red flags, we are surrounded by too many ostriches.
To: NittanyLion
Uh.....that's a report of allegations.
What did Arnold say he did?
To: EternalVigilance
I'm in full agreement, here. An Arnold collapse would be epic political news, but I just don't see that happening here. This isn't like the 2000 election, when the planted DUI story successfuly turned the late deciders into Gorons. Nope, Arnold has the kind of momentum that Bush did not have in his last week (when Rove stupidly stopped polling, that's when I started feeling bad. I remember it clearly...).
You have to understand how important it is to a regular middle class family to get hit with a tripling of the car tax in the space of a few days. They will vote, and it won't be for Davis.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
