AN DIEGO (AP) -- Gubernatorial front-runner Arnold Schwarzenegger acknowledged that he has "behaved badly" to women and offered an apology Thursday.

Schwarzenegger's remarks, as he kicked off a four-day bus tour of the state in the final days of the recall campaign, came after a Los Angeles Times story published Thursday in which six women accused him of sexually harassing and groping them.

I live in the real world and see what goes on every day. There are certainly things done that qualify as sexual harassment and plenty that is called it, but is not.

I also learned a very long time ago that not only are things rarely as they seem, but stories that make the news are often told much differently than what the facts eventually show.

But that said.......I'm not surprised that you and the other perpetually miserable freaks have found a new piece of dirt to chew on. I guess you've gotten so used to the taste, it has become an addiction.

"I was on rowdy movie sets"

Movie sets aren't inherently rowdy all over at all times...More likely, he was not ON "rowdy" movie sets, he was "rowdy" ON movie sets, AND off ---"Rowdy" putting it mildly, and implying playfulness in the sense of a "boys will be boys" idea of playing. He is blaming it on the atmosphere of the movie set--read OTHER PEOPLE...

"I apologize because that's not what I'm trying to do"

That is WHY he is apologizing? Because he is trying to run for political office now, where that kind of tawdry personal history doesn't go over well? Would he care so much if he weren't running for office? LOL

On a different thread, you stated how you knew some dirt on Arnold that was true and that you wouldn't talk about unless it came out. From the above comment, it sounds like this was not it. Am I correct?

You are correct, this was not related to the information I'm aware of.

A clarification: the information I'm talking about came from two independent sources, who've been reliable about celebrity matters in the past, so I'm fairly confident in it. There's certainly a possibility that it isn't true, which is one of a number of reasons I haven't posted any details.

If that story does come out, and only then, I'll confirm that it's what I've heard.

Actually the primary spin IS: (Hand me the envelope please)

Yes, it's "He's really a great, great guy because he's admitted it (even if it appears he lied to his press guy about it earlier). We don't dislike Clinton because he groped and fondled and lusted after all those women. No, if he had only come clean it would have been OK with all of us!!!!!"

I wonder if any of these peole really believe this.

The article came out last night and now Arnie is making a public apology. Don't you think he did that because the reports are true to some extent? Get real and stop protecting this guy.

HOT: Now Arnie's saying this is all trashtalk, but OTOH, he's "deeply sorry" for acting like a big jerk towards women!

Also, I don't appreciate this remark you made.

>>>Look....I know all of you nutjobs ...

Stop making this big jerk out to be the second coming of Reagan, while you Arnoldnauts treat Tom McClintock like he's a POS.

I think your remarks have been way out of line. Don't blame McClintock and his supporters for your candidates shortcomings.

You owe an apology for that remark.

Aside from his proclivities for groping women, he: 1. Supports abortion. 2. Supports the ban on assault weapons. 3. Won't say he won't raise taxes. 4. Has no experience. 5. Is a LIBERAL!

Wake up people. You are about to vote in " CLINTON"!!!!

Tom McClintock is a sleazebag, and under no circumstances, will I, or any other decent Republican, support an extremist egotist who thinks himself the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Unbelievably stupid admission

So you're saying that he should have denied the allegations, even if they were true? I think he did the right thing. Isn't there some maxim about the cover-up being worse than the crime? I think it is great that he did this.

I live in the real world and see what goes on every day. There are certainly things done that qualify as sexual harassment and plenty that is called it, but is not.

As do I. And in the real world, I don't walk around groping women, playful or not. I'd be fired if I did so, and it would be deserved.

I also learned a very long time ago that not only are things rarely as they seem, but stories that make the news are often told much differently than what the facts eventually show.

I learned a very long time ago that, when the person himself admits to the news account, it's time to stop defending him.

But that said.......I'm not surprised that you and the other perpetually miserable freaks have found a new piece of dirt to chew on. I guess you've gotten so used to the taste, it has become an addiction.

I'll admit it: finding out that the course of action you advocated [under heavy fire] was the correct one is nice.

Ahnuld boosters seem so overawed by his stardom that they forget that his positions are overwhelmingly liberal in nature.
________

I don't agree, they know that, but he does have an R after his name (but apparently that is going to have to be changed to NC17)

Well, I think he handled this correctly. Rather than drag it out, he apologized immediately and sounded sincere about it. (Well, at least to me.)

Yes, such behavior is boorish but as a Christian I do believe people can repent and change. The L.A. Times' "late hit" still offends me. I really hate this kind of stuff and I suspect most people do...which is why it will probably backfire on them.

And I say all this as a McClintock supporter.

So you say I should have one standard for moderates (Coleman and Warner) who play spoiler, and another standard for consevratives (McClintock) whose action have the same effect as what Warner and Coleman did

Which Coleman? Norm?

Instead, we should all vote for a man who's admitted to groping women at his place of work?

Is that it?

You know Sabertooth? I think the worst stuff will not come out because the other people involved would have to incriminate themselves, or else are too scared to sing.

Well, then, I agree. I wish he hadn't done it. However, we must deal with human imperfections as they exist.
