Commentator Rush Limbaugh resigned Wednesday night from ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown amid a firestorm that erupted over the controversial statements he made this past weekend about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb.
"My comments this past Sunday were directed at the media and were not racially motivated. I offered an opinion," Limbaugh said in a statement released by ESPN. "This opinion has caused discomfort to the crew, which I regret.

You know the Liberal media is just drooling over this.
This will not do the damage to Rush they are hoping for, imo.

I won't be tuning into NFL Sunday Countdown on ESPN either. The only reason I watched it in the first place was because Rush was on it!

Especially if things mentioned in other threads about the maid's lawyer pan out...like that he's a big-time Dem with lots of connections and there's no way this made could afford him...

There goes the ratings. The thing about the drugs seems vicious and suspect.

McNabb is just using this to divert attention from the fact he isn't worth crap anymore as a quarterback. Without a strong defense, he's toast because he has to put points on the board.

I only recorded it once Rush was on. I never watched the show before. I'm not awake when it's on.

Why don't the report the facts of this allegation- that she says she supplied him with 4,350 pills in a 47 day period. Just drop an allegation that she supplied him with drugs and leave it there to stink without folks seeing how totally ridiculous it is.

The attacks by the left upon Free Speech continue unabated. But only on "selected" Free Speech, from certain individuals.
The left puts no constraints on speech that pushes their agenda.

My husband is a medical doctor and I've just awakened the him to get his opinion:
"You woke me for this? Use your head! 4,000 and some odd pills in a 47 day period, and you would be reading his obit, not some salacious news article."

As much as I have never appreciated the 'work' Rushmouth does on radio, I believe the 'drug' thing is a cheap hit on a guy who at a time the alleged drug abuse took place had a serious hearing ailment.
My response to this issue? So what!!!
I'd say Rushmouth's personal behavior is better than the one who left a woman to drown beneath a bridge, and better than one who professed to stand by her man who escaped a rape conviction, and stained the history of the White House with her in it.
The vast left wing conspiracy is desperate to hang a 'racist' label on any man who has knowledge of their darkside anti-American agenda. A hollow and cheap shot on their part, but it does fit their character profile - hollow and cheap.
Pens filled with cesspool slime write the makers of slur, for by their trail of dung ye shall come to know them.
