If it were just a "he said, she said" allegation,I'd be with you.But,if there is an evidence trail and it looks like there may be,Rush could be in very serious trouble. The tip off to which way things will be headed,will probably be in the way Rush handles this.If he issues a firm statement denying all the charges and returns to his show on Friday,ready to refute the allegations,that will be a positive indication. But,if he goes into seclusion with his lawyers,that could mean worse things on the horizon.

You are right. If Rush says that he is "not allowed to talk" about this, it's true.

Rush is probably reading these threads tonight to see what his truest fans think of him.

Rush, just come clean with us if any of this story is true. Get well, or perhaps you did, and STAY ON THE AIR, wherever you can. Choose honesty and join us in prayer for your humility in living this down. Look at it as another life lesson. You have let us down severely but we are forgiving. Keep going. It's not all over. You still have so much to offer. We don't want to lose you.

And if the story is BS, sue that paper into the GROUND, man.

I wonder why so many FReepers, who are well aware of how often and how thoroughly the media lie, instantly believe a story like this?

I am reading comments such as "well, there is an evidence trail" ...... my question is, Says who? The media ..... and a pretty sleazy member of the media.

Why are we so quick to jump on a story like this and accept it at face value with no credible sources except a maid who claims that she is a mediary in an on-going pill-pushing operation?

Also, I am very suspicious of the timing of this story ...... maybe it's been prepared and sitting on the shelf waiting for an opportune time. So Rush goofed on Sunday, it took several days for that story to build up enough steam to force his resignation, and now this comes out. My! My! What a coincidence!

Well .. I hate to disappoint all you people who are ready to tar and feather Rush .. but if this really is an on-going investigation - he will not be allowed to talk about it. At least I believe his lawyers will be wise enough to advise him of that.
