Arnold for Governor -- Because Winning is Everything, and Character Doesn't Count!
me ^ | October 1, 2003 | Joe Schembrie

Posted on 10/01/2003 5:32:28 PM PDT by JoeSchem

How do you face your kids after you've voted for Arnold Schwarzenegger?

"Son, I want you to follow the rules, go to church, don't take drugs, don't mess around sexually, study hard, and above all, stand by your principles."

"Why, dad?"

"Well, so you'll be a success."

"But Arnold Schwarzenegger didn't do any of those things, and he's governor of California!"

"Son, if you act according to principle, you'll have my respect."

"Dad, you voted for Arnold Schwarzenegger! And Tom McClintock acted according to principle, and you were disgusted with him."

"Go your room, son."

"Can't do that, dad. You see, I forged your name to some papers and sold the house. The new owners will be arriving shortly. I guess you could seek legal counsel, but lawyers cost money, and I cleaned out your bank account too. I'll be leaving now -- but dad, thanks for all you taught me -- about how winning is everything, and character doesn't count."

Great to hear the truth. It depressed me that so many so-called Conservatives are ready and eager to sell their convictions out for the sacred "R".

I had thought about showing a fig. I realized that most people would not get it. The apple's perfect.

Sorry I was using the Indian Casino pronunciation of the word. You know I gotta get used to it after Cruz wins. I should polish up on my spanish too. Hopefully they'll spread out to Colorado after taking over here.

Such closed simplemindedness is why the democRATs usually win.

Leftist rhetoric on your part. Liberals are always accusing conservatives of being 'closed-minded' and 'simple-minded'. Seen it thousands of times.

In case you didn't notice, conservatism is WINNING. Conservatives are the ruling majority in the ruling party in the most powerful country on the planet, last time I checked.

And that will only continue and grow stronger if we aren't sold down the river more and more like we are being sold down the river in this recall election.

The approx 40% die hard liberals plus a huge chunk in the middle who TEND WHOLESALE TO LEAN VERY LEFT . . .

the stats on that huge chunk of the electorate are not really propaganda.

They may be hard to pin down as they are constantly shifting. But they don't shift several standard deviation points overnight.

The propaganda is the fantasy that Tom McEgo can win in the current context of reality.

You can help ZurC Aztlan get in power if you wish. I'd have a much harder time facing my mirror, my son, my God doing that than I would voting for Arnold.

Dad, how can you face yourself after allowing bustamante to get elected by wasting your vote on McDoesntHaveAChance?

"Easily son. When you grow up some more, you'll realize that principle is what really counts. Its not worth it to win at the cost of selling your soul."

Stoos has been a walking time bomb for McClintock. The guy has no place on his office clean-up crew much less chief legislative analyst. McClintock was warned by his own CRA people before hiring him. If McClintock was the front runner he'd be ravaged by Davis/Bustamante.

Sadly, yes.

Some people are constitutionally, emotionally, socially, psychologically, philosophically constituted such that about all they can manage to wrap their minds and interpretations around is a

reality

construed

totally in

stark

BLACK

and

WHITE.

Attempting to introduce them to the color wheel or gray scales is exceedingly futile.

One can attempt to teach a pig to sing.

However . . .

I'd have a much harder time facing my mirror, my son, my God doing that than I would voting for Arnold.

God doesn't call us to win. He calls us to be faithful to Him and His precepts.

The winning or losing part is His bailiwick...with the caveat that if we are faithful we will ALWAYS win eventually, or at the very least, in the end.

No way are you going to convince me that it is God's will to support a pro-abort endorser of what God calls an abomination. Just doesn't compute.

We would vote for him in a heartbeat.

Yeah, he used to be well liked here too. Maybe it is time for him to move over there. He likes your workman's comp laws.

Ahnold said he would not raise taxes.Taxing casinos that previously didn't pay taxes is a new tax. That would not be collecting taxes that are due, it is creating a new tax.First the casinos. Who's next? Ahnold also said he would fund his own campaign and not take money from others. Another lie.

I'm curious . . .

how do you tell a ripe cantalope or water melon at the grocery store?

How do you tell the difference between someone voting to prevent a 12 times over scoundral hell bent for greater destructiveness

vs

voting for someone against partial birth abortions, unreasonable taxes, removing the political machines from government

AND WHO

JUST SO HAPPENS to have captured the imagination of many wholesale masses of demographics categories who, for the first time in a long time, have some

HOPE

that things can be constructively different in Sacramento.

NO

political operative of either major party has a whiff of a chance of generating that kind of hope across such a broad spectrum in the electorate.

But of course the front-runner, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is totally given a pass by the press and by you on Buffett and Kennedy!

Why?

Because they are the hardest core leftwing Democrats imaginable!

You guys and your weird pro-left double standards...

Your children are watching you -- and they have x-ray vision when it comes to adult hypocrisy.

That's right. They're little hypocrisy detectors.

Leftist rhetoric on your part. Liberals are always accusing conservatives of being 'closed-minded' and 'simple-minded'. Seen it thousands of times.

I'm no leftist, piggy; your attempts to paint me as one have failed. But, hey, you've got nothing substantive to say so what the heck.

In case you didn't notice, conservatism is WINNING. Conservatives are the ruling majority in the ruling party in the most powerful country on the planet, last time I checked.

I can see now you're getting really desperate. Convervatism is WINNING. And I'm happy to hear it. I've never stated otherwise. Again, your attempts to paint me as something else have failed and made your already weak argument even weaker. I can see that's you though...all spin and no substance. You could at least pretend to have some self-respect and think before you post. Just a thought.

And that will only continue and grow stronger if we aren't sold down the river more and more like we are being sold down the river in this recall election.

100% hyperbole and an offspring of your dire desperation. How about trying something completely new for a change and saying something of substance? PM someone and ask for help if you have to. I'll wait.
