What do limps do? They are classic run and hide kids. They'd have more effect getting involved with the GOP and changing it from within rather than running races where they get 7 votes, except for the presidential race where Browne gets 25 votes nationwide every 4 years.

Just FYI, we are NOT shutting down the WYoming *WYFSP* discussion group just because of the NH selection. The stated goal for the project is Liberty in our lifetime and not just in one state.

If you'd like to go on the PorcuPing list here or join in on the WY state discussions, we'd be glad to have you, just as we'd be glad to have you as a neighbor out in Big Sky Country. And the Montana and other state groups have info worth checking out too- even the *New Hampster* state group.

They'd also have more effect moving into a traditionally Democrat state (such as, oh, say DELAWARE) where they (1) cannot do any harm by taking votes away from the Republican while (2) simultaneously providing at least an alternative to the dems in races where where we don't run candidates.

California is a leftist state and that fact is unavoidable. That means for the time being that Arnold is about the best we can hope to get there.

It's essentially the only conservative state in New England and has been for quite some time. I was actually hoping they would pick Delaware, which is a traditionally Democrat state (though not necessarily a liberal one). By moving to NH, which is both conservative and republican, the libertarians will at best win a couple school board races while providing spoiler candidates in any close major race between a Dem and a Repub. In Delaware they could have potentially run candidates in races that the Republicans aren't credibly waging either.

My company installed and commissioned a gas turbine and waste heat boiler in a paper mill up in Groveton (waaayyy up north) and I spent the better part of three months in Lancaster. There is a small town just north of the Franconia Pass called Littleton. I just love that town. It is right out of a Rockwell painting. Kids walking in groups to school, nice little houses along the road. If I were to move anywhere, I would like to move there. I sure would miss my nice long Tennessee summers, though

I've been working out of Memphis for the last half-dozen-plus years; I know what you mean about the TN summers. And the people here are great, even most of the ones here in Memphis, a few nasty and crabby ones aside.

But oh yeah, it's pretty up in and around New Hampshire's White Mountains- the old Mountaineer passenger train run jointly by the Boston & Maine and Maine Central railroads ran through there until service ended in 1972.

But now the Conway Scenic Railroad is running passenger specials through the notch area again. And they took that boarded-up old Conway passenger station and restored it to the thing of beauty it once was. Yeah, that'd be a mighty pretty area to settle down in, even if you did miss out on Tennessee summers. But in return, you'd get those beautiful New Hampshire autumn sunsets....

Gee, and I was hoping that the political arm that emerges from the FSP- call it the *porcupine party* for reference sake- would find common cause with New Hampshire Republicans like Governor Benso who gave us that nice welcome, thereby ofsetting any alliances between the third-place Democrats and NH independent voters, whose number is larger than that of the Democrats, and nearly equals that of the Republicans.

But if I understand you correctly, the RINO contingent will be so far to the left of the Democrats that it won't even be worth our while to reach accomodations or political alliances with them. Well, okay. Good thing the FSP recruitment will be continuing even as the first 20,000 pledged FSP members are relocating; two years ago, zero; a year ago, one thousand; now 5500. In a year, 10K, in two 20K. Assuming the present membership rate remains constant of course...and doesn't increase. And by 2008? Well, you figure it out.

But for now, we'll see what can be done with just 20,000 Porcupines. And, of course, a quarter-million NH independents:

Run and hide? This is the group that believes there should be no more restriction on the sale and carry of firearms than there would be for a circular saw.
