I know that this book is NOT a scholarly work

Expand on that statement - I found it quite well researched and documented. You may also note that the author cites scholars supportive of Lincoln policies in the book. I'm curious have you read it?

No, I haven't read the book. However, as I said in my comment, when I read excerpts of any "scholarly work" and it contains serious factual errors that I can spot right off the bat, that makes me very suspicious of the rest of it that I cannot check so easily. The errors I noted in my comment are as obvious to me as it is to most people when a writer/speaker gets the date of the attack on Pearl Harbor wrong.

I'll give a much more egregious example. I know from excerpts that Hillary! book is filled not just with errors but with outright lies.

For example: the college professor who graded a paper without reading the whole thing. The student had glued the last two pages together. He challenged the professor, who replied, "You don't have to eat the whole apple to know that it's rotten." LOL.
