URGENT: '02 Wilson bio gives wife's maiden name; '03 he claims revealing maiden name compromises her

An August 10, 2003 Seattle Post-Intelligencer Editorial contains the following paragraph:
"In carefully discussing what he called the hypothetical possibility his wife is a CIA employee, Wilson noted that the use of her maiden name would compromise work done before their marriage five years ago." [end exerpt]
Oh, really. Well then WILSON, HIMSELF, compromised his own wife when his copyrighted 2002 biography was published with this statement: "He is married to the former Valerie Plame and has two sons and two daughters."
Please click the above link if you want to read the entire editorial (pretty vicious toward President Bush).

I read an article today saying that one of 3 questions that had to be answered before an investigation could go further (I think on MSNBC, don't remember) is whether her name could have been found any way other than leaked classified info. The CIA answered "no". Good grief--yesterday morning a freeper was posting links to the bio at Middle Eastern Institute or Studies that plainly said he was married to the former Valerie Plame.

Sean Hannity was just on the Fox Report explaining to Shep Smith that the News Media is ignoring the statement made by Robert Novak that his source did not come from within the Bush Administration

" Nobody, yet, had disproved the assertion that Saddam Hussein was looking for refined uranium during the period 1992 through 2002, .."
Ahh-guess you missed the final word on that. Both CNN and Chris Jansing on MSNBC both declared this am, that President Bush's statements that " Iraq had sought uranium..blah,blah'", had been "proven false". No mention of the entire sentence and context, which they conveniently deleted. No mention of British intelligence. Apparently,Joseph Wesley Clark Wilson knows more than the British intel.I still haven't gotten over Chris Jansing referring to the terrorists in Iraq, who were ambushing and killing our troops in the last few months,as "resistance fighters." I think there's a Pulitzer here somewhere for an investigative journalist-that is,if they investigate the true story and motives behind Joseph Wilson.

"Because he was in Baghdad prior to Operation Desert Storm and did a commendable job.."
Not picking a fight w/ you, but I have seen this mentioned a few times -- that G Bush Sr. appreciated his 'dedictaed service' during the Gulf War.
My complaint -- Wilson was probably one of those 'seasoned, respected' State Dept. idiots who advised against completing the Gulf War by taking care of Saddam back then.
'Oh no, world opinion and arab street urchins would rise up against us!' IMHO, he's been a useful idiot for the dark side for years and we're only now getting a glimpse at the maggots underneath the State Dept. rock.
Once again, not attacking you, just questioning the idea that this fool actually served his country's interests during the Gulf War and not his own liberal sentiments. Just my opinion.
Sorry to post and run, but that's what I'm going to do.

You know how I feel about the French. I have been asking for months about how many American Politicians the French have bought out to protect their interests in Iraq/Iran/Syria/?.

I think any stuff on Valerie was taken off a long time ago. In fact, I'd guess about the time Valerie SUPPOSEDLY called her hubby to tell him about his new job.
I keep thinking of M. Albright and her most recent statement that if it wasn't for Hillary, she wouldn't have gotten the job.
How about this Valerie chick?? Does she fall in that category, too??

Excuse me. I think Wilson is scum and the whole thing about his wife totally overblown. However, I think the salient revelation is taht his wife is a CIA "operative." The fact taht someone's wife's name is known is meaningless unless one is also told "His wife is a CIA operative." Excuse me, but I already know that.
Why did you think I didn't?
Did you see my post #15 where I pointed out it was a democrat telling Cliff May, for one, where Wilson's wife worked---before Novak printed his column?
The post you are responding to merely had me thanking Wolfstar for pointing out that it is WILSON who is saying his wife's maiden name being "revealed" was one of the supposed transgressions committed, and we here are mocking that contention.
Get it now?

However, he has ties to very senior Democrats going back at least 18 years, and he's contributed to John Kerry's presidential campaign.I eard him say on Fox & Friends this morning that he contributed to more than one Dem presidential candidate. He named only Kerry, however, correcting Steve Doocy as to the amount -- $2000. I wonder who else he gave money to and how much?

Actually, my gut instinct keeps telling me this whole phony scandal was a setup from the beginning. And I mean from the very beginning. I'm doing my best to research this angle and will post what I find on FR.Well, for your files then:
White House 'warned over Iraq claim'
July 9, 2003
Excerpt:
Doubts about a claim that Iraq had tried to buy uranium from the African state of Niger were aired 10 months before Mr Bush included the allegation in his key State of the Union address this year, a CIA official has told the BBC.
~snip~
But the CIA official has said that a former US diplomat had already established the claim was false in March 2002 - and that the information had been passed on to government departments, including the White House, well before Mr Bush mentioned it in the speech.
Questions and points about the above article:
a)The date preceeds Novak's column.
b)Since the yellowcake/Niger brouhaha has emerged, Tenet said the WH was NOT informed of Wilson's "findings": (CNN) -- Statement by George J. Tenet, Director of Central Intelligence, on July 11:
Excerpt:
Because this report, in our view, did not resolve whether Iraq was or was not seeking uranium from abroad, it was given a normal and wide distribution, but we did not brief it to the President, Vice-President or other senior Administration officials. We also had to consider that the former Nigerien officials knew that what they were saying would reach the U.S. government and that this might have influenced what they said.
End Excerpt
c)Soooooo, can we just guess who the "CIA official" was that had an interest in promoting Wilson's version of his story?
To: Williams
Although this is not from a source many here like, it is still an interesting article that will help explain some of the 'spook talk' about 'operatives'.

Here's somthing new on the Plame/Wilson connection. Maybe nothing, maybe background.
This web page lists people doing biographical research on various Jewish names in the Ukraine. Look who was checking out the genealogy of the name Plame, and look at the email address.
Not very covert, if you ask me.
To: LayoutGuru2
try a google search of 'Valerie Plame' I tried that along with "CIA" and got about 2000 hits. The ones at the top were recent, but I couldn't find a way to go from oldest to newest to see when the first combination occured. If anyone knows how to do that, it might be interesting.
