Charlotte is Base for Firm's Foray in U.S.

A German company has selected Charlotte as its North American sales and distribution headquarters for ready-to-assemble home and office furniture.

Nolte Furniture Inc., a subsidiary of Waldmohr, Germany- based CS Schmal, also says it's looking down the road at a manufacturing plant in Charlotte if sales meet projections.

...Stuart Oram, Nolte's vice president of sales and marketing, said officials had conducted a nationwide site search that included such cities as Atlanta and Philadelphia.

The deciding factor in Charlotte's favor was the combination of its hub airport and positive business climate, he said.

I am sick and tired of Chancellor Schröder sending jobs to low wages countries like the US. NAFTA must be stopped!
