AUSTIN -- Texas officials have joined the Mexican government in protesting a new U.S. program that each week packs thousands of illegal Mexican immigrants onto chartered planes in Arizona, flies them up to 850 miles to Texas and shuffles them across the border there.
< SNIP >
"They say they're not criminals," Laredo Mayor Elizabeth G. Flores said of the immigrants. "But they're hungry, and hungry people and desperate people do desperate things."
A. D'Wayne Jernigan, sheriff of Val Verde County, which includes Laredo and 125 miles of the border, said his department has received more than 100 phone calls about the program from locals, many concerned their cars will be stolen if immigrants make their way back into Texas and are "desperate to get to their final destination."

Fine then. Make 'em walk.
Um...Hello?
Just a quick note to the US side of Homeland Security.
I just want to make sure you don't get worried or anything about the fact that my country is being consumed by illegals coming in by the SUV-load.
Y'all go ahead and get some more rest; play some more scrabble, or whatever; and whenever you decide to start thinking about removing your collective thumbs from your collective @** and get to work, that's cool...just let someone know; okay?
Hugs and Kisses-

Didn't we already read just a few days ago that this program was ending? Seems to me like the dems want to take credit for something that was already in the works. And publicized as so. "Oh that program's ending? Let's come out and demand that it end then."

The real problem is that this places them close to the U.S. Border. If we deported them to Tierra del Fuego (the southernmost tip of South America) it would take them a LOT longer to come back.

onto chartered planes The idea of moving Illegal invaders to an ejection point far from where they snuck in is great.
Only problem I see is the waste of our money using planes.
Surely we must have some 2 1/2 ton military trucks available?

"They say they're not criminals," Laredo Mayor Elizabeth G. Flores said of the immigrants. "But they're hungry, and hungry people and desperate people do desperate things." A lot of people living along the border have this concern. As Mexico becomes worse off, the people leaving are more and more desperate. Plus the crime rate in Mexico is exceptionally high and getting higer all the time ----- the border is far too open in the places they are dropping the illegals off --- many will turn right around and come back to the USA side. The Mexican government will aid in that too.

In one year
330,000 migrants were arrested there, i.e., at one crossing area. Just think how many
got through at all crossing areas. And the Bush Administrations talks about one-half million to two million total! This has been going on full speed for more than ten years ever since the corrupt government adopted their "Mexico, a nation without borders" Mexican diaspora policy. A euphemism for "get the rift raft out of here!"
"Cheap labor!!!" We'll take 'em! Got more?

Surely we must have some 2 1/2 ton military trucks available? Yes, we do, but all the active duty drivers are in Afghanistan or Iraq.
I'd volunteer to drive 'em, though...I still have my DA348 and military driver's license...somewhere...lemme check this file cabinet...yup! Here they are!

"They say they're not criminals," Laredo Mayor Elizabeth G. Flores said of the immigrants. Barbra Streisand!
They have no regard (or courtesy) for our laws. They can "say" or believe whatever they want...they are criminals, just as we would be entering Mexico in the same way.
