[history]
In July I was interviewing a senior administration official on Ambassador Wilson's report when he told the trip was inspired by his wife, a CIA employee working on weapons of mass destruction. Another senior official told me the same thing. As a professional journalist with 46 years experience in Washington I do not reveal confidential sources. When I called the CIA in July to confirm Mrs. Wilson's involvement in the mission for her husband -- he is a former Clitnon administration official -- they asked me not to use her name, but never indicated it would endanger her or anybody else. According to a confidential source at the CIA, Mrs. Wilson was an analyst, not a spy, not a covert operator, and not in charge of an undercover operatives...

If Plame were not a covert operator, would the CIA have made the referral to the Justice Department?

There is no doubt that this is a compromised man!!

I wish I shared your optimism. I don't think this story is going to go away. It should, but the Rats will beat it to death.
I'm reading Mona Charen's excellent book Useful Idiots. She details how the Rats have been on the wrong side of national security at every turn and how they have been able to make the sheeple believe their spin.

The recent press attention supposedly focuses around the media's claim that Tenet is pressuring the WH for a formal investigation. Fox already reported this was false and that Tenet made no such claim.

What a GREAT find! Thank you for posting that.
I'd heard Wilson believed (when it was politically expedient) that Saddam had WMD, but hadn't realized how strongly he felt that Saddam was a threat.

It does not matter if there is any substance to the charge, they got the charge out there. It has been and will be repeated for a few more days and then will be quoted by the left as the truth. Soon, it will be accepted fact as a minor scandal that the Bush Administration managed to once again dodge - even though from the beginning is was never really ever a scandal.
Does that sound about right?

Jennings and all the other sycophantic idiots better watch it....there is such a thing as SLANDER law.....and libel law!!!

Dog reported that FNC said that, despite earlier reporting, Tenet DID NOT ask for an investigation. That tells me volumes.

I dont think Wilson told him, but another Clinton holdover in a new government position, maybe the CIA?

Sounds right. It's the tactics used by the left, repeatedly, and with great success. And you articulated it very well.

Unless, of course, is is turned against the Dems. Then it will go away.
I have a sneaking suspicion that a big bomb-ola is about to fall on the Dims.

I love this story. Just love it!

I believe the earlier report was that the CIA had made the referral. Would Tenet have had to make the referral in his own name? If not, the two accounts could both be true.
To: jmstein7
You may be right. Rush sounded quite happy at the end of the hour and said he had information he could't divulge at this time.

The more I think about this recent turn versus his common sense stance in March, that Wolfstar documented and posted, I think that $inator Hildebea$t has an FBI file on Wilson with some bad stuff in it.
She threatened to expose him and since he is not a new Episcopal Bishop, he decided to roll over to her side to try to electronically lynch our president.
The Yellowcake scam of which he was a center piece failed.
They have been blogging this latest scam since July and having it ready to release whenever bad news for them was starting to surface.
They have some scary stuff surfacing now. So they released this Yellowcake Scam, phase II this past weekend.

There seems to be a lot going on and when it comes to the clintons' behind the scenes stuff, nothing is ever what it seems. As far as Putin goes, I have no idea. That man is back and forth more often than I can count. He says he and President Bush have a relationship built on trust and yet he goes against him and sides with the U.N. all the time. Who knows? President Bush was asked once what he does during the hard times. He responded, "Trust God." That is what I am doing now.

Sounds like a New York Times lead article to me (with retraction in the 1 inch fine print on page 39D)

Also, there is a danger (to the Dems) that the DOJ may hit some Clinton dirt during their dig
Personally, I think Bush should just say "enough is enough" and release all the good dirt on the Dems/Clintons he has willfully held back. Make them swim in it; this is getting absurd.
To: aristeides
I know some news reports said Tenet had made the referral. More bad reporting or outright lies? Who is to know?
