Dolly: Yes, I am aware of the praise & the flaming that I receive each time I do this & include libs.

NOW, your & ATRW input. Here is one response I received. Want to tell you that this woman is a male hater (can tell NOT the ONLY email I receive from her is "humor" that is male bashing.) and I also have known her over the years. She also has returned my humor with corrections on spelling in grammar in RED. She was removed from Humor list. Rarely do I write to her anymore. I did send her this week a note w/pix of my new grandson (our boys played together as kids). I received NO response from that mail.

Ok. here is what she sent me & what I have to possibly send her. My response will not address either the political or biblical ...... but I could. I frankly know I will not change her & it is a nice day & after I do yard work, I want to go out & play.

Shame on me?? How dare you!!! The main reason I cannot tolerate you "conservative, Republican, 'patriot' anti-liberal" people is that you try to shame anyone who disagrees with you. You say we are unpatriotic and and insinuate that we are unchristian. Again, how dare you? I have asked you repeatedly to stop sending me this drivel and you keep sending it. I have thought about sending you an equal amount of liberal reading material, but so far have not given into my urges. I have tried not to lower myself to your Rush-like standards of hatred and intimidation. I do have one which I will send you which is the kind of thing which lead me to try not retaliate in like kind. It seemed to me to be the most "Christian" way of handling things. I prefer to concentrate on Christ's call to love my enemies and pray for those who persecute me, even though I will admit it is very hard. One reason that I continue to go to Grandview is because instead of having a sign which says "pray for our troops," we have a sign which says "pray for peace." I can't even find in the NT that God loves only Jews, much less that he loves only Americans or that somehow one nation is his preferred one. Don't you realize that by demonizing an enemy ( Iraq or the "liberal" press) you are only projecting your own "sins" onto someone else. It is taking the easy way out. You are better than that. You are certainly more educated than that. I don't hope to change your mind, but I do finally hope to get you to stop sending me this stuff. PLEASE. ljc

I have sent you just one mailing of a political nature the past couple months & should mention I get regular (daily) Lib material from family & friends who share. I am not offended by this & am glad that they go through their research & send me the best. I read & try to grow & see the other side. We seem to have intelligent & enjoyable exchanges, which have deepened our mutual respect & friendship.

This was authored / compiled by a friend in Texas....... I note that the entire last paragraph was omitted which included the source info.. My error. I was NOT the author/compiler but agree & accept your "flaming".

I respected your request to not mail.. I send out multi weekly things (and sometimes daily) to others who are in the political wave, so to speak..... so you have NOT been bombarded with my "drivel". Sorry that this one piece so offended you. I can assure you, you will NOT receive anything further from me.

I think your note is just fine. I wouldn't waste time with her any more. Those who are blind about Iraq are too vested in their world view, and will not admit they could have been wrong (Jeanine Garapolou comes to mind).

yes, you are right about moving on. I always tried to hard to hold on to "sorry relationships" guess, thinking the best & that things could change..... even my marriage doomed in year one.. I stuck with 22 years.

I'm sorry to be the cause of any animosity between 'old' neighbors, Dolly. Removing "SHAME ON YOU!" may be a good idea before sending to non-press/pol acquaintances. I forget sometimes that the world outside of politics and press is easily offended. Especially today.

It is more important to let others know how cruel Saddam was/is, than to take them to task for their politics.

Feel free to edit out all politics and "shaming"...and whatever will keep you safe from flaming.

Now, for professional reporters and politicians....leave in the "shaming", I think. (^:

Lorna & I met at church in NC about 25 years ago. We were at that time in similar situations as well educated (seminary) women with a church that thought diaper changing & kp were the work for women in the church. so we were side by side in the issues that I guess would be considered liberal (at least they were in the church).. other ties over the years but there always was this element that we didn't see eye to eye on more than we agreed on.

so it is no loss. I like to keep in touch with old friends as I have moved many times in my life.. but people who frustrate you more than they please you need to be terminated (from your life.. not theirs !!!!) .. Arnold???

Thank you Ragtime Cowgirl. These stories are among the most horrible I've read. These are worse than WWII and they were a good example of what humans are capable of. These stories surpass those stories, by far. What an awful human being those three men and their minions were/are. We cannot say they are animals, animals do not think.

Her "love thy enemy" is superficial. She's never had to put her "belief" where she thinks her heart really is. She's never met a real enemy, not someone like Sadaam. She's never had to fear for her life or those of her loved ones. Her Christianity has been in the church and her home. She's never really had to put her faith to the test. She does believe, that I'm sure of, but her belief has never really been tested. She is a liberal, that is for sure, she probabbly listens to the alphabet press, and listens to people of like minds. Until she's put to the real test, she will always believe someone like Saddam never existed. Dolly, I wouldn't send her anymore information, someday something may happen to allow her to see and believe the truth. Until that time, she will be a "forgive thy enemy, for they know not what they are doing".
I have known people like this and have moved beyond their areas, my time is too important to waste it.

Dolly as you know I am often provocative here on FR. But when one is on the air in radio, the audience is much broader than the FR audience. I have at times received every kind of angry response and threat. It only happened when I was effective.

I have found that if I made a weak argument easily refuted by my opponents they were rarely angry with me.. In fact they would find my efforts humorous.

But when I was on point and made arguments not easily refutable.. arguments that made the opponents examine the truth of their positions and even doubt them, they reacted with anger and name calling. They used angry phrases steeped in hatred toward me.

Darling' what you did was hit a nerve. What you did was send an email that was a success. It pointed out the horrible position this woman had taken. She escaped from that revelation using the most common last resort technique.. anger. She is more angry with herself than with you. This story just pointed out to someone exactly what they are... People will not stand for facing the truth about their own failures.

You are right that she has never felt the OPPRESSORS of cruelty, although she has had her share of trials & pain.

She was married to a sweetheart - a very dear, compassionate & warm man .. But her cold manners & sharp tongue turned him away for good after 15 years of so ..she is bitter about that. She understands her marriage ended because of her choice of attitude & her personality. Guess she feels take me as is or not.

(And I feel the same way myself..we need to be authentic about who we are & accept the consequences if the way we are is somewhat antisocial)

As a young adult her dad was sent to prison. This man is/was a respected Bible scholar.. it involved a partnership he had & illegal investments. Her dad the PhD , "doc", ivy league tower mentality, put in his money with trust to the Investor partner.. they both went to prison. While there for about a year he wrote a series of letters to his daughter.. Lorna.. then published to book.. called Dear Lorna.. He also published much before, during, after... mostly Greek translations of books of bible. When I was in seminary we used his work in our Greek classes. “Dad in Jail” was a difficult time for her. She is much like her dad.. Super intelligent & isolated.

Also 2001 Christmas her only child/son was in severe auto accident during a snow storm... he was not expected to live.. he was in IC& & coma for months.. finally after about 8 months made an almost full recovery. She has a sharp tongue & makes enemies. There are ways to say things without being totally offensive & does not possess or use that type of tact..

More than you wanted to know.. But if the Libs would look at us also as humans & not just faceless entities spouting “hate” they would see we have a foundation under our belief system and are not just throwing out rhetoric.

To the leftists who supported our efforts in Kosovo, even though we did not have UN approval, may their shame follow them for the rest of their lives that they did not apply the same standards of humanitarian concern to our efforts in Iraq, all because our president has an (R) after his name.
