Well the 2004 election is upon us and the scandals will be think and furious -- urged on by the lamestream media. We should keep count. Perhaps this is scandal #1 (with the usual call for a special prosecutor). Perhaps scandal #2 is today's attempt (again) to tie Cheney to Haliburton interests. Plenty more to come in the next year.

Exposing CIA agents was termed treason under the first Bush. If this story turns out true Rove needs a cell beside Pollard for the next 20 years.

"If there was ever a case that demanded a special counsel, this is it," he said. "This is a very serious national security matter where there is a clear conflict of interest for the attorney general because it could involve high-level White House officials."

I think this is what the Libs are really up to ... they want to start making up scandals through a "Special Counsel"

Schumer, D-N.Y., said matter should be investigated from someone outside the Bush administration.

Your buddy's at it again.... :-)

It seems to me that it is ROBERT NOVAK himself who "leaked" this unworthy agent's name. He did not have to say anything. But he is generally sympathetic to the Arab view, and we shouldn't be suprised to see him try and undermine the War on Terror any way he can. Meanwhile, revealed or not, this woman is similarly biased against American interests and has no place in the intelligence service. She should have been fired a long time ago, along with the incompetant George Tenet.

Spy Games
By Clifford D. May

Was it really a secret that Joe Wilson's wife worked for the CIA?

It's the top story in the Washington Post this morning as well as in many other media outlets. Who leaked the fact that the wife of Joseph C. Wilson IV worked for the CIA?

On July 14, Robert Novak wrote a column in the Post and other newspapers naming Mr. Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame, as a CIA operative.

That wasn't news to me. I had been told that — but not by anyone working in the White House. Rather, I learned it from someone who formerly worked in the government and he mentioned it in an offhanded manner, leading me to infer it was something that insiders were well aware of.

Q: Why would Karl Rove know anything about individual CIA agents? Does his position entitle him to that kind of information?

Novak should have known better. In the end, he will be forced to spill the beans. Better sooner than later. Get it over with Bob. Time to move on. Nothing to see here.

White House Denies Leaking CIA Identity

Like they would admit it if they did.

Wilson has publicly blamed Karl Rove,

Sounds like that disease that Wesley Clark had. More than likely, Novak's source is a fellow CIA agent (a disturbing possibility) or a "friend" of the couple.

Now if I remember right, didn't the previous administration release some information from Linda Tripp's personal file? No big deal then!

"I don't have any knowledge that Karl Rove himself was either the leaker or the authorizer of the leak. But I have great confidence that, at a minimum, he condoned it and certainly did nothing to shut it down."

Oh, so you have no evidence for accusation #1, so you make accusation #2 which you also have no evidence for. Well, Wilson, I have great confidence that you had intimate relations with Saddam Hussein.

Wesley Clark disease.

Demon-rats, the party of gall. I mean how many names were leaked, how much personal info was thrown to the press when the Klintoons were in office only for it to be mentioned once and then entirely forgotten about..."Oh ho ho! The Krazy Klintoons were just trying to dig up dirt on their many accusers...It`s OK"

Re the Wilson bio: I find it odd that Amb Wilson left the Department after only 22 years of service (1976-1998). With one Ambassadorship (Gabon)at an early age, he was on track for a much bigger post unless he screwed up somehow at his last assignment to the NSC. Or he could have decided to resume his earlier connection with Gore and left the Department to work on his campaign for President. I would check on why Wilson left the State Department and what he did immediately thereafter.
