Notice how they just recently spent all week building up the reputation of Schumer on the Gitmo chaplain case - and the press completely ignored Rep. Congressman Kyl as being the man behind the bill to investigate how the chaplains are selected?
Now we see why they were building up Schumer.
Note that Schumer was claiming that there needed to be an investigation, claiming he wasn't getting any info on security at Gitmo, as if there wasn't an investigation underway already at Gitmo?
But Yee had been followed for some time and Halabi had been under investigation since November 2002. Indeed, Halabi appears to have been sent to Gitmo so as to keep an eye on him. It was a good place to keep these people under investigation and observation while they buries themselves; they were effectively in custody without even knowing they were in custody. That kept the time from running out for making charges against them while allowing more evidence to accumulate against them.
It didn't seem like the military was ready to call the investigations quits when it was leaked. they could have kept that going for quite a while, looking at those notes that Yee and Halabi were sneaking out of Gitmo, if they had been able to keep a lid on it.

1. Whats the deal with Tenet? Why did he send such an unreliable Democratic partisan as Wilson, on this on this mission in the first place? Why is he now doing something that just gives ammunition to Bushs enemies. Why the deliberate attempt to embarrass the president? I find it hard to believe Tenet is actually that concerned about his agent.
2. How is it Wilson can write publicly about a secret mission? Why was he not required to take a security oath? If he did take a secrecy oath why has he not been prosecuted?
3. I would think someone with Wilsons attitudes and associations would be considered a security risk, how is it that his wife kept her security clearance? It is my understanding that when it comes to security clearances; that even a small possibility of risk is (or should be) a disqualifier. Husband associates with Moveon.; Moveon has Communist and other connections, how is that she is not a security risk
4. Everyone here assumes leaking Palmas name was a bad thing. If someone like Wilson goes public and reveals hatred against U.S. policy and the current administration, I think reporting what appears to be an open secret about his wife is not such a bad thing. . I am not sure the fact of a CIA agent being married to a person with Wilsons connections and hostility to American policy and War effort, should be kept secret.
5. The line that somehow her "cover was blown" or her "sources" may be endangered is laughable. Someone talking with an Ambassadors wife will not draw attention to themselves??
The idea that some foreign government will arrest someone for talking with a CIA agent but have no problem with them talking with an ambassadors wife, is a little farfetched.

IMO, it seems with your reply #4 of this thread that you were all to eager to carry the liberal medias water(i.e talking points). As I said before this story has been out there for months, the dems have came upon it late. All I want is the facts of the matter. I have no desire to carry water for either faction, unlike many here.

The use of the administration's PR time is being orchestrated by the dems. You're right. They are trying to keep any good news hidden. Our only hope is some real hardball by the Administration. President Bush is a good man and he really hoped he could change the tone in Washington. It will never work as long as the clintons are in charge of the RATs and the media.

Now you are backing away. Were you faxed new DNC talking points?

Why are you so interested in where President Bush is? You sound like a terrorist spy. Maybe the FBI should check you out. Is your wife a Muslim?

"It will never work as long as the clintons are in charge of the RATs and the media."
The X42 couple initiated this ugly trend in the campaign of the '92 election. Now that the rest of the dems have had a bite of the apple, it may never change.

"That should read:
1. Novak is [allegedly] was one of a half dozen reporters called by two [unnamed people who allegedly claimed to be] high-level White House officials who said Plame had abused her position to get her husband the Niger job."
If you think so - please call FOXNEWS and let them know so they can edit the report on their site. I posted what they wrote, not whay I wanted it to say. You seem to want/need to spin it.

Yada, yada, yada, same old, same old. The same old, same old, is the unbridled truth about this Administration's "Limited" War on Terror.
What's so ironic is that if this flap occurred during the Clinton Administration you Bush Shills would be (rightfully) all over Clinton and use any source to discredit Clinton's denials. You know deep down this is true.

Letting it be known that Wilson's wife is CIA only lends credibility to his criticism of the Administration. Wilson is the one with the motive, not the WH.

I can't help but wonder why it took the Democrat porty so long to care. I cannot help but wonder if she was actually a culvert operative or the analyzer of paper data most people think she was. I cannot help but wonder if Wilson or his wife is the source.
I cannot help but get the impression this entire case is artificail. Like all the others.

Karl Rove has NOTHING in his background that anyone would thinbk he was guilty.......you ae EASILY persuaded by the media.

Wilson is involved with Moveon.com??/Are you SURE?

"we need Karen Hughes back to adequately respond to these ridiculous charges by Dims"
She does have a way about her. I don't know that I've ever seen anyone present as convincingly as she does.
