I think Reagan was a great man as well but fact of the matter is, is that according to the conservative litmus test in which many of you McClintock supporters impose he would have never been governor of California nor President of the United States.

Reagan was a Republican for only 4 years prior to his run as Governor as a Republican. Prior to that he had been a lifelong Democrat that was married to a prominent Democrat, Jane Wyman.

During his first term in office he raised taxes over 140 million dollars, he signed an abortion rights bill into law, and he signed a gun control bill into law. He also supported an open boarders program and had double spending on education by the time he left state office.

As President he he gave amnesty to over 2.4 million illegal immigrants. And later in life he supported the Brady Bill. So by all these accords some McClintock supporters may be inclined to label Reagan as a RINO. But that's only half the story and if you knew the whole story you'd know that reagan was a true conservative but a man that had a broader vision and compromising nature that some conservatives just don't understand.

As President he (Reagan) he gave amnesty to over 2.4 million illegal immigrants.

He did that and the thing was that was supposed to be it...guard the border, no more invaders.

I find it fascinating that Arnold supporters would even trash the symbol of American values to make a point.

I'm not a McClintock supporter per se. I'm a resident of Massachusetts who can see what happens when the party chooses victory over principle. It just allows the Dems to go way left, and still win.

And what did we get? Can-win Romney wanted to run for governor, so true conservative, highly regarded and grass-roots party builder Rappaport stood aside and said he'd run for LtGov. Well, then Romney trashed his candidacy for LtGov in favor of a relative-unknown, liberal Kerry Healey. Rappaport got nothing...so much for respect.
