"Arnold has to earn votes. This is an election, not a coronation."
What you say is not without merit -- BUT the best way Arnie can earn votes is for Tom to sit down with him and discuss what their differences are, and how to find enough common ground so that Tom can ask his supporters to back Arnold. You know, responsible, reasonable politics, a subject that a lifelong conservative politician should know something about </sarcasm>
But both of us know that Tom won't do this. Losing does NOTHING for Tom's career or his causes. I still care greatly about his causes, even if I no longer give a rat's ass about his career.

Why doesn't Arnold pick up the telephone and call Tom?

Schwarzenegger has decided to run even further left than Bustamante on many issues.
Nothing he can do will get me to vote for him.
I feel first priority is to acheive recall. Second is that Schwarzenegger does not win.
