That's because you missed the primary/election season, on FR, in 2000. There are CINOS here, who call everyone else RINOS and don't even understand the term. The extreme right/political naifs, revel in misery. Of course, they keep saying that there'll be " a revolution ", should every elected office (or even most of them ) is held by Dems. They're children, delusional, or worse. And...they do NOT belong here.

Just you wait, the Bushbashing is just getting up a head of steam and should fully explode next year. These same people do not, I repeat... NOT ...really want even 1/2 of what they claim to. It's ALL or NOTHING for them and are satisfied with NOTHING.

That poll says only 59% of democrats will vote for big breasts. You'd have to think they will consolidate around the lone major democrat, and McSpoiler isn't going anywhere. IOW...10 days to Governor Bustamante!

Look at the last page. Arnold wins 48-33 with McClintock out of the race. This is sabotage, plain and simple.

Earlier I caled this the silent switch.

What possible rationale is there for some "silent switch" on election day beyond wishful thinking?

Busty would better as Governor than Arnold passes my ability to comprehend.

Important distinction. It would be better for Boosty to win the Govenorship than for Schwarzenegger to win it.

There is a difference between that and what you paraphrased and I have always tried to state it in this manner.

*flabbergasted*

There are people on Free Republic who would actually rather have Bustamante over Schwarzenegger?

I have to go back and check to make sure I'm on a conservative message forum.

Granted, Arnold's liberal on more than a few meaningful issues, but gadzooks, he's more conservative than Bustamante.

Extremely flabbergasted.

Republicans: 60%
Democrats: 17%
Other/Ind: 27%
The above is the break out of Schwarzenegger voters by party..... Where is the 50% for conservatives coming from......

Only in your head and in those who agree with your wrongheadedness. You refuse to view reality through anything but blackout glasses.

You haven't the scintilla of a clue, just what Arnold would or would NOT do.

So what that it's a "recall" election? It is still an "election." And in any election, 18% of the total vote that is committed to one candidate does not shift to another candidate within 9 days of the election.

Actually, there is exactly one circumstance in which a shift like that CAN happen. It is possible for such a shift so late in the game -- if the leading candidate is killed. That's it. End of list. Unless you are rooting for Schwarenegger's death, you are wasting your time and energy.

Latest column, "Democrats Dancing to Tunes of Glory?," discussion thread on FR. Article will likely be on ChronWatch.

That's not entirely true. Some want bustamante to win, they've said as much.

I like McClintock but he will not close the gap in 7 days. His numbers are not showing that steep of an advance.

It looks like the race is now between davis and schwarz.

McClintock supporters will be in turmoil between now and the end.

The same few, who desperately yearn for Hitlery! to be president. They are ONLY " happy ", when they and everyone else here, is absolutely miserable.

Here's a BOZO that thinks that keeping Gray would be better than having Arnold:

But in the mean time, please, don't disrespect those who disagree with your assessment that Arnold is preferable to Davis. We have well considered and experienced opinions. Heck, you might even learn something in the dialogue.

The recall yes/no numbers have stayed almost the same in both polls...... didn't change. 52 yes to 42% no in early poll to 53 yes to 41 no in latest poll....

Davis is the only objective in the first question.... Looks like he may lose......

Actually, it's worse than that. Since it seems likely that Arnold will be the next governor, they might be in turmoil for the next three years.

"Schwarzenegger would set a precedent that will move to other states and races which will make the Republicans be unable to run pro-life or pro-family candidates."

You are right that this is the risk. And if this comes to pass, we'll have to fight the spread of moderate-liberals in the party. But I'd rather fight this scenario than see California eviscerated by La Raza Man.

If we are to get more conservative WINNING candidates in CA, we face the daunting task of getting more conservative voters in the state - even the oddball dynamics of the recall election don't change this. Early in the recall process, there was the scenario of a single true conservative going against a fragmented liberal base. But even in this situation, the winner wouldn't have had a winning mandate. He wouldn't have the club needed to beat back down the hyper-leftist legislature.

So the task for us California Conservatives is as follows: Get more conservative voters in the state. As far as I can see it, this can only come about by 3 methods:

  1. Educate open minded people into believing the conservative way;
  2. Get conservatives to immigrate to California, or
  3. Find fellow conservatives of the opposite sex, drop our pants, and get to work!

FR has the first base covered, I'll invite any Texans to experience the excellent outdoors life to cover base 2, and regarding the final one, well, my FR mailbox is open and waiting....

I'm worried about that 53%. It really isn't that high, what if some change their mind. Didn't we see it closer to 60% just a couple of weeks ago?

If one of the Republicans win this race in the middle of a term will the 2 remaining years count as a full term when it comes to term limits?
