I just heard a GREAT radio ad supporting Tom McClintock for Governor. It was Bruce Herschensohn - - California's MR. CONSERVATIVE -- speaking from the heart. An announcement said it was co-sponsored by California Republican Assemply, so I went to their web site - - and here's the official announcement of the Herschensohn ad:
CRA LAUNCHES RADIO CAMPAIGN TO SUPPORT TOM MCCLINTOCK FOR GOVERNOR The California Republican Assembly announced today that it was beginning a radio campaign urging support for Tom McClintock in the recall election October 7th. Bruce Herschensohn speaks candidly with listeners in the 60 second spot confronting the argument that although McClintock is the best candidate, he cant win.
If everyone who has said that would vote for him hed win by a landslide, Herschensohn says. The spot concludes with an appeal from Herschensohn: If you think hes the most qualified candidate, support him. At this point, it doesnt depend on him, it depends on you.

Just like most of the McClintonites... Now I'm glad I took the time to look at a few of your posts. While you're castigating Tom supporters for comparing Arnold to Clinton, you're doing the exact same.
You, sir, are a hypocrite.
To: Robert_Paulson2
Are you a RINO too? ;)
To: EveningStar
Of course I am a rino.. I wholeheartedly support ARnold and President Bush... the RINO of the last national election, according to keyes and buchanan supporters...
HEY, they are mostly the same ones supporting president mcClintock!

Are you taking about Alan "Harold Stassen on steroids" Keyes???

roflmao...
he needs to switch to decaf...
To: churchillbuff
McClintock would be my first choice, but he is not electable in this race. He should do the right thing and throw in the towel.

Yes, it IS more over the top, than calling McC supporters on what they are actually doing !
Gee, Robert, that quote is another winner...sheeesh !

While you're castigating Tom supporters for comparing Arnold to Clinton"
no sir I think that is a false comparison, but it is not slander per se.
What I disagree with is them (McCLintock supporters) comparing Arnold to satan, calling him a baby murderor, homosexual, woman hater, rapist, or the antichrist... and similar.
Tom being compared to clinton (in that he has a perceived honesty problem) is NOT the same thing... Many of us "RINO's" believe he has a problem with truth telling: as to issa; I will get out to keep from being a spoiler... and then saying to his koolaide klan; I am in this to the end... (the crux of a honesty dilemma)
You are being disingenous... you know you have been proven wrong regarding the civility of your "friends" amongst the McKoolaid Klan:
South 40 posted you some links (on the other thread, go read them again). After which you say you admitted you were wrong and apologized. Good idea, because you were wrong then and are now too.
Which is why I posted to you on THAT thread..
btw: We are not supposed to drag our flamewars across theads... but since you want to bring up things from other threads... whatever, right?
Brief list of insults from McClintock supporters (very similar to Anti Bush in 2000) http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/991055/posts?page=67#67

I used to hope this insult fest would be over October eight.
Why do I get the feeling that these same folks, will be back in November attacking the president, or some other leading conservative with the "baby killers" slur???

"You haven't answered my question: WHY IS ARNOLD AFRAID TO JOIN THE REFERENDUM TO REPEAL THE LICENSE PLATE LAW? And doesn't that show that he'll be a weak governor, because he can't stand up to the liberals?" I'm sorry I didn't respond, but this has been a banner week-end for motorsports fans (and Bike Racing Fans-Go Heras!, and Brisbane Lions fans...) and as virtually every RINO I know prefers Open-Wheel racing to NASCAR, I had two races on at once, but...I digress...
I've answered your question, festina lente, make haste slowly. The Governor can do a great deal until the referendum succeeds or fails. The response I received from someone is "No he can't."
Oh, wait, I get it, so the CA Governor, if he is Pro-Abortion can do something about abortion, and if he's Anti-Illegal Immigrant Licencing he can't do anything about that?
Listen now and Believe Me Later...
The Director of the DMV is appointed by the Governor...CA is corrupt, completely. It works both ways, you know.

I didn't come up with that label. Not sure who did, but you can read about it

Because your guts are telling you the truth; that's why. Look at the nics, of the most virulent posters, and that's all you need to see. They're Bushbashers, from waaaaaaaaaaaaay back, and there's NO reason to expect '04, to be any better than 2000 was on Fr.

What I object to is comparing McClintock to Perot or Nader.
To: truthkeeper
You recall exactly right about Herschensohn and my support for him; I'm impressed.
I'll confess to you up front: I have a TON of posts to respond to, only a few minutes, and haven't read this thread. If there's something specific you want me to look at, tell me, and I'll try... probably tomorrow.
I have heard BH on Hugh Hewitt endorsing McClintock, and defending his participation and shrugging at Indian "gaming" involvement. My brief take on that is, I still like Bruce, but I profoundly disagree with him on this. At least he's candid: he says, "So what if we lose?"
I come down on a different side of the "So what?" than he does. Some of my so-what's are so families are hurt in a dozen different, terrible ways; so the rule of law is perhaps irretrivably damaged; so every slander ever slung at the conservative movement is proven true (self-willed, divisive, arrogant, implacable); and (here's a big one) so more and more pro-family conservatives are either bankrupted and/or driven out of state, hurting the conservative cause and leaving the government-dependency class in still greater ascension.
He may still be a great guy, but sometimes even great guys are wrong. IMHO, this is one of those times.
And there's no need to trash someone just to disagree with him.

You pretty much answered my post, but especially with your last comment. I'm glad you said that, I'd be disappointed if you let it slide.
If you do get a chance to read this thread, and I hope you do, you'll see that there is some real over-the-top stuff. Some of it got pulled already, thankfully.
Poor Bruce.
To: truthkeeper
That's got to be the greatest tragedy of this whole thing: natural, should-be ideological allies WITHERINGLY DEVASTATING each other to the ground over what should be at worst a simple disagreement.
If you're a Tolkien fan, you'll get this from-memory paraphrase: "The laughter of Mordor will be our only reward."

being a perot isn't...

The suppostiton was "there are not enough conservatives to elect anyone."
I believe that is incorrect. This recall will bring out a larger percentage of conservatives than a normal general or primary election. I am willing to predict that more than 40% of those casting votes in the recall will be self-described conservatives.
The rest of your post is nonsense.

Since historically the higher percentage of conservatives only appears with minimal voter turnout, and predictions are that this will a high turnout - your predication appears to be the nonsense.
Your caveat regarding "self-described conservatives" gives you wiggle room - Since Republicans consider themseles more conservative, even the RINOs among us fit your description.
