It's funny you should say that. Try reading Charlie's War, a book about Dem Rep from Texas, Charlie Wilson, and his very large hand in winning the war in Afghanistan against the Soviets.

He didn't do it himself but without his work it would have never had happened.

Was it really that long ago? Wasn't it just prior to Clinton that Democrats actually backed off from statements like the ones we now hear daily?

Yes...that was long ago...before the Klintoooon regime....and the ME generation of the 90's. For the dems...it's all about winning. When they are out of power they get desparate and nasty and all that counts is getting their power back.
