Clark spreads word of candidacy in N.H.

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Wesley K. Clark enjoyed a celebrity's reception yesterday on his first campaign visit to New Hampshire, where he followed political traditions by making a lunchtime stop at a diner, taking a walk along this city's main street, and holding a town hall meeting at a college.

"In addition, he brought applause from a crowd of between 300 and 400 later at New England College in Henniker when he apologized to a retired Army officer who told him she had been sexually abused while in the military."

Why did he apologize? Was he responsible for the alleged sexual abuse? Is he supposed to apologize for everything the military does?
